i have a scary ability to predict the endings/next thing to happen in a film. eg. knowing that tyler and jack were the same person in fight club. not really a 6th sense just abit odd.
I believe in sixth sense !! Just thought I’d share that all with you !!
i think it’s all a load of tosh really. and that’s all i have to say about it
thats tosh, that alex bloke is a liar. he lies.
macca, being able to guess the ends of films doesn’t mean you’ve got sixth sense.
i believe when people are very close they can be kind of psychic, but only with each other.
hence i said, i know it isn’t really a 6th sense, just a result of laziness
It’s clearly not a matter of a ‘sixth sense’, rather the ability to predict events based on previous experience - you can do this with close friends, clarice, because you will probably have seen similar reactions to similar events before; again with movies you successfully predict the ending because in a previous similar movie, a similar ending occurs.
Does this mean that films that are good always avoid this predictability?
i don’t think it really matters if you can or cannot predict the ending, for instance with fight clubt here was some satisfaction ib ebing able to predict the ending, but in another film with a plot twist, eg the usual suspects, there was also enjoyment in your perception being wrong and realising you were wrong. i think that if you can or cannot predict the film it doesn’t detract from it, unless the film is a weak one.
yeah… like in greek tragedy. first thing they do is tell u how the thing’s going to end. great! but it means that the interest has to be created in other ways.
yup, shows how well crafted the movie is
no, rich, i mean stuff like calling someone up and them being engaged because they’re trying to call you.
chloe, no they don’t! theres always someone setting the scene but you get that in everything (note how much of an influence greek tragedy has been on literature since).
the usual suspects is such a clever film.
i had a preminition that some bloke got run over by a car infront of me. then it happened. i got a bit freaked out. but nothing else exciting, other than sometimes knowing who’s calling my house just before i pick the phone up.
I always used to be singing “waiting for tonight” by Jennifer Lopez and then I’d turn on the radio, and it would be playing. Having said that, it’s probably attributable to Capital fm and it’s playlist of, oh, 3 or 4 songs
my 6th sense is my infra-red vision. i am also faster than a speeding bullet, and can clear rooftops in a single bound, and keep a lizard in my front room.
I call it the Force. I call a lot of thing the Force, but especially strange coincidences. I believe it is possible for the sub-concious mind to be in tune with certain things. I have had many experiences like this. I just don’t think it can be conciously tapped into yet. Sometimes we do things without really thinking about it, and later finding out that it was really good for you in the long run.
Or you are thinking about a close friend or relative and they call you. Great stuff.
I used to be into all that silly wiccan stuff Nothing personal, I just think wicca is a weak religion, though I respect it because it has thought me many things.
Anyways.
I’ve heard lots of stories from people I trust and have experienced some things myself. Had some out-of-body experiences too, though only the first phases. Other typical stuff like wanting a parking spot and finding one, making sure elevators are always at the floor I am, succeeded in having sex with some guy I was crazy about (didn’t end well though).
I’m such a teenager.
definately… sub-conscious… yess
