Some like it hot

Happy to report that the city of the angels IS the hottest place on earth right now-110 F

My wings are burning suppose I shall be called Icarus rather then meno4 from now on,

Carleas, I’m just rambling, though there is something to the suggestion, but whatever that could be is most probably waaaaaay above understanding as much as way below feelings of credibility.

That is just 37,7777778°C, we had 40°C the other day, with it at 52°C on our patio.

18C here and I was sweltering, talking to a Geologist about rocks… and stamps, and fossils, and other such things… whilst sipping a glass of fizz and talking political conservationism and corrupt governments over the millennia.

…just how I like to spend my Friday evenings… :smirk:

Our chart may differ, this 110 F 43.33C
while 40 C is a mere 104 F

But I beg to differ not for reasons I would have thought I knew You bettanyhow this here angelic hellholecwas listed as the hottest place on Mother Earth.

I hope this disclosure has absolutely no tie in in what may have gone down in the German Alps s,2”on a particularly magical mountain top.

That’s 64 F , no wonder everybody on planet earth was and is flocking to sunny California, until the climate change changed all that, now New Yorkers and I supposed old ones like the would have been Prinz Harry are vying to return to a ruling Brittania.

.
64F, in a built-up Central-London, was swelteringly warm, so no need to emigrate elsewhere… even for a short while, well… until Winter gets into full swing, that is.

The fizz and my belly didn’t agree, but am home now and it’s settling back down nicely, already.
.
…can’t stand hot weather. :unamused:

I’m just the opposite MGsJ , if I may call you Maggie, ( like Maggie Cassidy) my thoughts being similarly to me, as if that mattered, I think I mentioned my death in awful Xsnas Paris, where I was pronounced dead for 5 min.
Cause of the extreme cold, I shan’t touch upon ever after

It’s till 104 F here in the city of the Angkor 41.11 C at near sundown

.
Did you not have a Winter coat though, Meno, then perhaps you wouldn’t have succumbed to the Parisienne cold?

I thought you were living in California already, for many years now?
.

My maternal grandfather was advised to leave his birthplace of Portugal for sunnier climes, for the same reason as you in Paris, so that he didn’t succumb to the cold… permanently - he was a non-Semitic Moor, which my mother only had the inclination to mention to me a couple of years ago, of which I had known about sooner.

I met him once… he was very aloof indeed.

That is = hottest place on earth Right Now

.
 lol

…that’s because New York is a cesspool of a dump. :smirk:

Have you ever met or will meet Peter Kropotokin?

We were going to meet in Europe but the time lines didn’t mesh, but I did meet a guy buy the name of Stuart, do you recall him in the olde ILP, he came up met him at the greyhound station near skid row, he stayed over the night, I was not nice, was in fact in a nasty mood, and then my daughter peaked in and saw him and related it, to someone very dear to me, hinting we carried in an unconventional manner, which is not true, , he read me a few of his poems, but was so put out by that time, tha I fell asleep and we had breakfast at McDonald’s down the street and talked a while, and he said I shouldn’t be worried, and should stick to ones with whom we could sustain communication. Then his wife picked him up and then I haven’t heard of home sauce, he was gone from ILP , unless he is still here under a different name.

He liked to talk about continental philosophy,

MagsJ I would like to get to know Peter because he lives in Cal, and I may get up there sometimes not this year but in 2025 summer, because about say 10 years or so ago he promised that he will offer me unqualified acceptance, regardless that my biker haight Ashberry days are gone, and so are the south beach days, hanging around Diffent Light Books, and then going to the tenderloin to check on the girls, finnichios’ especially,

And would relate to his checkout job at Walmart and stuff like that, for box-noting was my first job in cal, when you needed a service dd214 just to get any job, and loosing that was bad , but I got on with it.

And then the internet philosophy opened up and I met you , being kind enough to accept me here, and recommend my membership.

Been here siince

My son just came in the door, and he verified the temp. As 115, making it Los Angeles the hottest place on earth beating Death Valley and even Mecca, Saudi Arabia-no relief in sight, tomorrow may even exceed that

.
I remember Stuart, but I didn’t really know him well, and I do recall you mentioning to me that you were going to meet up.

Your daughter did a ‘Noah’ on you, huh?
.

We had a mad thunderstorm in the very early hours of this morning… lightening included, and again this afternoon - at least the garden plants will be happy.

The Noah thing wasn’t like when god ‘s punishment and that kind of thing, days of rain, must be over sight probably … here going again defensively sticking my nose out of the vampire :vampire: den, but feel ok cause the sun always down behind those hills there, xcept time for quitos to come buzzing out looking for blood, like us twilight people.

No telling how this going down one thing:
It’s so odd that the gal Salome dancing away, wanting vengeance for not getting her way, the namesake of Mr. Nietzche’s therapist. But ok , anything goes thought wise, before going to the den again. (Yawns, and getting set to sink talons into firmament.

Can’t wait for Harris/Trump debate on Telly, it will be a telling foreshadow of what’s coming ahead.
Night, it must be rising sun over there, how can you take the sun, but then suppose wearing something real dark only your eyslits showing under the burka. Not unusual in Arabia, where foreign women feign arabesques to fit in to the environment, they don’t want to stick out like a sore thumb. Avoid some spicy eateries where they use lots of garlic, but I’m sure you could be the one to lecture me on that aspect of ‘hidden life’
