Sometimes I like to make fake album covers

I do a weekly art prompt with a girl at work and this week the prompt was Vampire.

This one was not going well, but I was encouraged to keep experimenting with it and I ended up on something I liked.

that’s pretty cool

Thanks!

Here’s a new one I finished today. It was kinda serendipitous that a Modest Mouse album had such an appropriate title for the piece - I made the piece first, and started to look for any existing albums that it might fit, and I chose Modest Mouse to look through first. Wasn’t expecting them to have just the perfect album title to go with my illustration!

Sisyphus approves!

Thanks Sisyphus

Nice work.

Can you make a Tool one?

[tab]As a teenager, I felt extremely confined.
But no one criticized me or attacked me for making music.
There was no right or wrong note to play.
There was a freedom in music - I could express myself without fear.
It’s been a thread in my life which I protect heavily.
My music is mine and I don’t want to taint it.
I always play for myself, and rarely let anyone else hear.
Barring a few people I trust, I’ve never wanted another to listen.
99% of the music I play is impromptu and not recorded.
As why would I record, unless to show another?
This would taint it for me.
I barely know how to play a single song of another,
yet I’ve played instruments for a 1000 or two hours.
I didn’t want any expectations, standards or criteria to meet.
I feel myself, and my music, as a contorted flower,
and has the will to grow, but in isolation,
grows in a strange manner -
often twisting upon itself.
This is me rambling and explaining
why I believe my best work isn’t displayable.[/tab]

Sometimes I compose little songs with software,
as a painter may doodle a sketch on paper.
These two were composed on a site called beepbox.co -
[I googled mp3 upload and found below site where people can listen]

I composed roughly 40 songs in a similar fashion in my late teens / early 20s using a music creator within the Guitar Hero series.
I stopped once I sold my Xbox and never really invested the energy in picking up skills in a DAW. So I stuck with live music.
The above were me messing about with the site’s composition app - getting a feel for it.
That’s enough rambling for me.

I really like these, especially the first one. It’s actually not far removed from a lot of electronic music I already listen to…
