Sorry about that, Chief.

Don Adams died yesterday.

Is anyone else around here old enough to remember “Get Smart”?

Haha… I used to watch re-runs of it after (primary) school in the afternoon.

James

Yeah, I’m old enough. Between “Get Smart” and the “Pink Panther” it’s no wonder why the intelligence (???) community looks like it does.

JT

yep, and he was also the voice of inspector gadget (and a couple of others)…

and mobile phones are no longer in shoes…

-Imp

The shoe phone was hilarious, but not as funny as “the cone of silence”.

Hello F(r)iends,

Get Smart
KAOS Agent: Look, I’m a sportsman. I’ll let you choose the way you want to die.
Maxwell Smart: All right, how about old age?

Inspector Gadget
Wowsers!

I forgot what KAOS stood for… anyone remember?

-Thirst

CHIEF: Max, this will undoubtedly be the most dangerous mission you’ve ever been on. You probably won’t get back alive.
MAX: If you’re trying to scare me, Chief, you’re wasting your time. I don’t know the meaning of the word fear.
CHIEF: You’ll parachute from 6 thousand feet.
MAX: I think I just learned it.

CHIEF: There’s no telling where they’ll be able to infiltrate next. Maybe even the Pentagon.
MAX: You’re right, Chief, but even in they do get a man into the Pentagon, that’s not saying he’ll be able to get out. I remember one of our own agents was lost in there for 3 days.
CHIEF: 3 days? Max, no agent could be that confused.
MAX: Well, let me see, I went in on a Friday…

CHIEF: Now, did you get all that?
MAX: Not all of it Chief.
CHIEF: What part didn’t you get?
MAX: The part after “pay careful attention”.

maxwell smart was great. Don Adams will be missed, but not forgotten. It’s too bad we didn’t get a decent Inspector Gadget movie(s). Perhaps Steve Martin can do justice to the pink panther?
