Just because it is part of our programming, doesn’t mean we have to choose it. We know that social interaction cannot happen without some degree of self=other (transcultural Golden Rule). It is built in and part of our programming that we do not always choose. If we can reject the default-good part of our innate programming, we can reject the nurtured anti-good, whether it snuck in as Trojan memes, or we willfully pursued them into our armada of madness.
This is the battlefield of the hearts and minds. This is spiritual warfare. Hold every thought captive and make it justify its occupying your head space. Is it friend or foe? No foe-meme which does not pass through the self=other bivalent double-edged sword of truth, goodness, and reiterate (rhymes with its foil: ugly-repeating idiot) beauty litmus cannot stay rent-free. Repeat the beautiful by selecting the good from the true until it is everywhere in (y)our pleasure garden.
Make the World Eden Again
(caveat: if that triggers your evolution reflex, see biologos.org and balance it with the fact that language and theory of mind don’t get off the ground unless the capacity/hunger for them are irreducibly hardwired by an already communicating, interlocking mind)
