He’s had some crazy idea about tariffs for decades. But if he ever understood what they do, he seems not to understand why he wants to impose them. He as four incompatible aims.

Impose Tariffs to make money to replace tax with the income from tariffs

It going to create lots of jobs, but if that happens the US wont make any money since the US will not be importing. This is the opposite of point 1

But not its all about tryng to stop Fentynil. He’s blamed Canada who supplies 1%. Why? Most comes from Mexico, but they would only suffer from lower exports so how would that stop illegal trafficing of drugs, THe REAL issue is why the Fuck are Americans buying that shit?

It’s a punchup -we are punishing China, and they will suffer more than us. The false belief that the rest of the world has been taking the piss out of America by having the termerity of growing their economies whilst sellling goods to the USA.
No one asked the USA to control the world by builiding 750 military bases. But Trump is playing the victim card. Whilst this glocal control has brought unimaginable wealth to the USA.
But the people are not feeling that wealth? Why?
China is still a poor country but its people are in an ever increasing improvement in their standard of living,
Meanwhile Americans outsourced American jobs, AMericans created their own rust belt. China did not do that to the USA; Europe did not do that to the USA.
Americans made that happen. SO why is Trump blaiming the rest of the world for what Americans have done to its own people.
And what have they done.
health care out of reach, groceries and gas out of reach.
American Capitalism has impoverished American, and the American elites focus the blame on everyone but themselves; lazy Americans, and the rest of the world is to blame for what people like Trump have done.
So dirt poor yanks with no money, no prospects poor education and poor health care have nothing better to do with their lives than blame immigrants (people proping up local economies); an so they buy Fentanyl to wash their meaingless lives away, as they drool over the world’s richest people who now trun the screws on their lives even more; trump, musk, bezos, zuckerman, etc..
