What if you had a piece of advanced technology?
Do you really think that it would exist outside your body as a device you see and touch like you understand today? A thing of possible tampering, theft, competition for?
Do you really think that your ability to operate it were due to its incompatability to your physical appendages? OR is it possible that you are simply misinterpreting it! The same way an ape might spend its life with a keyboard to a supercomputer and lie on it to sleep at night. What if you were left instructions for that technology! A very technical manual over what each button is for if you could only find the “on” switch. Do you really think that this long lost technology would be a thing of wonder to your eyes? Or, with some conditioning, a thing of ridicule for you to sleep on and take poor care of?
What if one of its functions was a like a Star Trek tricorder device. A unit of detection for you to interpret your environment. Do you really think that this advanced device would appear in plastic and metal materials? Do you think that its user-friendliness would be limited to data symbols on a tiny screen for your eyes to interpret? Do you think that moral traits, assessment of whether it is harmful or helpful to you, would remain irrelevant to this advanced detection?
What if another function was like a Blackberty Phone with a CAD software. Your CAD blueprints could be fed via satellite to a garage which produces your engineered devices according to CAD blueprint. You have many devices waiting which have been built by your design. But you still need the proper algorithms (like coordinates, delivery system) to MANIFEST those productions (!) back to your region?
What if it had a panel of input/outputs, for various purpose? A button algorithm that you had to learn in order to operate it.
If something else was aware of technology given to you from beyond, and wanted to reduce your ability to utilize it- what would they do?
What if you HAVE THAT TECHNOLOGY!
