If I understand your posts correctly … telepathy has moved beyond superstition … for some people … yet is likely milleniums away from being understood in scientific terms.
DL … the description of your telepathic experience as emotion versus message is intriguing. I have had the same experience … many times … I think.
Seems logical that in the evolutionary journey of the human species … communication of emotions between/among humans preceded any structural language … excepting body language of course. Many cultures survived milleniums without written language … excepting art forms of course.
Perhaps the evolution of telepathy will follow the same trajectory … from communicating emotions to communicating sophisticated elaboration of such emotions(emotions carry information) … putting the emotions in context.
What about synchronicity … a notion that likely remains in the ‘superstition’ category for most people.
OTH … perhaps telepathy between/among humans may precede synchronicity … ie the community of minds exchanging information via telepathy coalesce to create physical events.
Thought, as far as we know, needs electrical activity and that is not invisible and can be seen with the right instruments.

I think that telepathy is driven by both emotion and desire.
I am a fairly logical person whose emotions I keep fairly deed in my thinking.
The day of my experience with my wife, I was writing a letter that I felt to be important to various charities.
I recall, while writing, thinking of and wishing for her more loving heart. I desired the emotional capacity of my (future) wife, and that is when we had our shared experience.
She called an assault and that was enough of an emotional blow to make her cry. I was also quite startled by the experience so if that has happened to you many times, then those you touched mentally would know it was you and likely complain or ask that you not do it again.
I do not see an evolutionary increase in telepathy as it ends all privacy of a mind and I think most minds will fight or block such communication at all but the basic emotional level.
It is hard to say though as some, mostly military, are working to amplify telepathy as they think it might make a good weapon for spying. I think they are wasting good time and money.
If such could happen, some would have it and would be wealthy billionaires who would pay to have any new information discredited.

That seems like your own personal problem. I can’t help if you want to not contribute to science and not do experiments to confirm or deny the existence of out of body experiences. Well, not everything. Say you forgot the name of a famous actor, or you forgot what you episode of Seinfeld you watched last week and it’s on the tip of your tongue. You don’t have to waste energies researching the matter.

I have only OBE’d of my own volition, 1 time, which took years of attempts(like I’ve already explained elsewhere). The other two experiences of the upper and lower dimensions, I was taken there involuntarily, spontaneously, while wide awake and those experiences inspired me to try to do it on my own. My will to investigate further will not cease until my exterior perishes, but this second round of attempts will happen. However, you may not be patient enough for me to get there in the name of science. Do you tend to give up a lot?

There are “forces” … for lack of a better word … that affect/influence human life. Science continues to make progress towards understanding the ‘science’ of some of these “forces” … eg gravitational waves.
I’m not convinced that the scientific understanding of some of these “forces” includes the full extent concerning how they affect/influence human life.
The "force(s) I referred to vis a vis telepathy … IMO have not yet been circumscribed by science … yet a growing repository of empirical evidence points to its “reality”.
