How do you know that it wasn’t really a spaghetti tree, and that a spaghetti corporation didn’t intentionally silence the story and turn it into a mockery because they wanted to maintain control of all the spaghetti profits?
It was all just a spin off of the rather-unimpressive linguini hoax of '53.
Which was a test hoax to see how the public would respond. It worked, and now everything we receive is systematically distorted such that we wouldn’t know the truth if it hit us in our faces.
Your talking nonsense Smears. It’s very important that people recognize the blessing that noodles can have on one’s life. Maybe you just haven’t found the right plate of rigitoni. I have and since then my life has changed in remarkable ways and I’ve persevered through many struggles. I believe I have angel hair pasta looking over me.

LOL gotta love the fun one can have with gullibleness. My son and his friend were about 8 when we drove past a ranch that had standard horses and mini horses. I commented that the reason those horses were so small was because they were left in the rain too much, leather shrinks even when its still living. Cows don’t shrink due to high content of fat under the skin, etc etc…
I really did not expect the boys to believe a word of my teasing. Apparently they did for a couple of years and even convinced friends. I was amazed and could not stop laughing when they finally told me. The main reason they believed me: authority figure. I work with mini horses now and it still makes me giggle about their sweet naive young gullibleness. But, the spaghetti tree is far more amusing as it involves adults . 
I suppose, really, if you tell a whole bunch of people an untrue ‘fact’ about some subject that they don’t know anything about, why wouldn’t they believe it? Spaghetti was relatively unpopular during that time, apparently seen as something of a delicacy by the English. If they don’t know anything about it, what reason do they have to not believe it grows on trees? Especially when they see images of spaghetti growing on trees.
Sure but, it does not make it less funny. Imagine never being able to laugh at yours or others stupid attacks. Magicians and storytellers would become illegal. The upside: we would have to get rid of politicians too.
I’m laughing at it too. I’m not saying we’re not allowed to laugh. I’m just saying that, perhaps a bit of the humor in it is rooted in hindsight bias.
Oh, well yea but, that is true about most humor. We laugh at the antics of kids because been there done that. It may not of humored us as kids but, we chuckle as adults.
