What made you decide to, and what have you found the benefits to be?
I grew up in a Christian home (a preacher’s kid), “prayed to receive Christ” as I understood him and my need for him at 4, asked questions all throughout growing up, lost faith under the weight of unanswered ones shortly after being outside my parents’ home, and was “brought back” on September 22, 2005. I asked more questions, got answers, and keep learning.
The “brought back” part is crazy to talk about.
I’m not saying there aren’t benefits, but they aren’t how I was brought back.
Sometimes, the lover of inquiry follows their beloved wherever it leads.
Other times, they get dragged & whacked upside the head by the Answer.

It’s like that Venn diagram (without colors, as far as I recall). I think it was in abnormal psychology at MJC, where yellow is what you know about yourself, blue is what everybody else knows about you (as far as what you show) and red is what nobody knows about you YET (well—there is one).
Your “tells” are purple.
Red is not necessarily a bad thing.
Yellow could be lying to yourself.

CANS (possibility, capacity) should be beneficial (constructive) — just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Why?
When they are not (naught) beneficial, they are nihil — they self-destruct.
That is why Paul says all things are permitted, but not all things are beneficial. The permitted is inclusive of the beneficial and the self-destructive, otherwise we would not be free to choose love (self=other).
