Lay people never used the term ‘assigned at birth’ until very recently. It has gone from being a medical term used by medical professionals when referring to the rare cases where sex is ambiguous at birth because the genitalia hasn’t developed correctly, to a political one, used by agenda-driven activists to imply that all babies are somehow ‘assigned’ a sex at birth as if it’s some kind of arbitrary ‘label’ that evil doctors inflict on us.
Humans are so depressingly easy to brainwash and often all it takes is a single word.
''The terminology has evolved across various editions of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) maintained by the American Psychiatric Association. Initially, the third edition of the DSM referred to “anatomic sex”. By the fourth edition in 1994, the term “assigned sex” was introduced, with subsequent editions also using “biological sex” and “natal gender”. The latest revision in 2022 streamlined the language to consistently use “sex assignment”.‘’
‘…latest revision in 2022…’ Oh my. What a ‘surprise’.
''Sex assignment (also known as gender assignment) is the discernment of an infant’s sex, typically made at birth based on an examination of the newborn’s external genitalia by a healthcare provider such as a midwife, nurse, or physician. In the vast majority of cases (99.95%), sex is unambiguous at birth. However, in about 1 in 2000 births, the baby’s genitals may not clearly indicate male or female, necessitating additional diagnostic steps, and deferring sex assignment.‘’
So a medical term that was initially used to refer to the 1 in 2000 births where sex is ambiguous or incorrectly ‘assigned’ has now become one that’s used as a political weapon to make a person’s sex seem somehow ‘trivial’ and nowhere near as important as the ‘gender soul’ that the gender fairy inserts in our body and sometimes gets wrong, manifesting as boys who don’t play with trucks and girls who don’t play with dolls, thus scientifically proving that ‘sex’ is only secondary to the all-important ‘gender soul’.
