Technology is too powerful of a truth-revealer for many people. They already hate the truth if it interferes with their little habitual pleasures and laziness. If it generates even an iota of cognitive dissonance for them. But technology is not going to conform to their prejudices and weakness, it will continue forcing reality upon them.
What massive layers of reality and truths do you think something like the existence of sex robots forces upon the psyche? People have to deal with this. Ignorance is not an answer, only burying one’s head in the sand. Likewise pretending to be on one side or another is only polarizing another type of ignorance.
Why does technology lead to lambification and zombification? Because most people are prone to being like that, slavish and “last man” as Nietzsche described. Today we call them normies. There are enough of them in the world to really screw up everything for the rest of us, even if they are not a true majority of the population (but they probably are).
Technology is only partly at fault, the rest of the blame is on human nature and the failures of our societies. In a sane society of intelligent and responsible people there would already be open and honest and very direct discussions all across society and in politics on all levels having to do with new technologies and how they are impacting the world around us and do we really want that, the pros and cons debated on a policy level, but that is happening almost nowhere. Maybe it is inevitable given the pace of technological progress, that it would outstrip society’s ability to rationally understand it. Only select individuals who are already more elevated in mind, intelligence, awareness and self-understanding could have a chance to not be destroyed by it. Everyone else will simply be forced to adapt in the end, one way or another. It is sad but I see no way around it.
Philosophical weakness means being coerced into adapting to the world in ways you might not want. These people gave away their power already, thinking to themselves that thinking was unnecessary in the modern world… average 90s and early 2000s sentimentality I suppose. Very innocent. Now we see the results of that sort of intentional ignorance and self-stupidification. If they thought bread and circuses were the end of it they are very wrong indeed.

But at the simplest you simply describe the biological reality that we work only with what we experience.

You will be sorely disappointed with the quality of 3d printers once you get one. ± 0.2mm precision is terrible. It is inferior to low quality chinese plastics. I could not even get functional LEGOs to print from a 3d printer.
Most 3d printer people breathe in toxic plastic fumes indoors and we are still in the stone ages of 3d printers. They print indoors because prints are too sensitive to outdoor temperatures.
The simple fact is most of the CES2026 tech was mediocre, not transformative. The world already has too much pollution and waste, don’t need more junk piling up in homes and landfills.
The current thing you’re missing is “fun factor”. Where is the fun factor? In the 1600s people hunted around and farted around for fun. Nowadays everyone is overly domesticated. In the 1600s men wore wigs and high heels. Now everyone is some kind of domesticated straightedge normie. In the 1970s people could drive 200 mph in their cars on open roads, nowadays there are more rules. They try to placate with these gadgets, but fail to innovate. Even in the 1990s gaming was more fun than now, more split screen gaming, more LAN gaming, more comradery. Now everyone is all atomized, politically divided from each other, most people have bullshit politics.
Only a few of these gadgets looked genuinely fun. One gadget that looked fun was Rokid glasses, but again, Rokid already had glasses years ago, when I watch CES I want to see something new, something original. Who goes to CES to see “oh there is a slightly newer computer than before, but it has the same features as older computers”.

Where your actions are directly, without extras linked to your own survival, i.e.: You hunt → therefore you have something to eat and wont starve.
