I’ll explain this to the Uninitiated out there… this YT personality ‘Asmongold’ did not rise to fame out of nowhere. He was the most popular MMORPG WOW gamer of the last 20 years before his down-shift into political commentary. This doesn’t mean anything to your average Normie, but I’ll explain something here. The Gamer Community throughout the West is a very, very different subset of the public. Gamers are above-average intelligence, above-average Testosterone, and the MOST competitive group out of all cultural groups. Thus, to “win over the Gamer community” is no easy task or feat. Similar to 4chan /pol/ these are highly-critical and argumentative young (and old) males. The difference from /pol/ though is that Gamers are less cynical, more nuanced, and have the widest political breadth of opinions.
I wouldn’t count the Gamer community out. Their analysis and “side” is perhaps the most important of all sub-cultures. Because, like in Philosophy, they are unafraid of arguing, can pour all their extracurricular hours into “Solving Problems”, as is done in addictive, communal video games (MMOs or even FPSs). This group is highly politically incorrect, and overlaps onto /pol/ significantly but not completely. That is why I find much more insight into this “random YTuber” than average Normies and opinions.
Normies are non-confrontational. Gamers are not, Gamers are highly-confrontational (online, in-game), and will literally stay awake 24-hours a day to beat the greatest challenges that game producers can dream up.
