the most annoying word 4 years running

Maybe. For me though the most annoying word is still COOL.
Going on 30 years now.
God I hate that fucking word!

There is a tempting response to this…but…
yeah, I often dislike it too.

Oddly, I would say the slang ‘chill’ bothers me more.

It has the same root but is often an order.

Go on, I can take it. If, uh, that’s where you were heading.

I don’t know. I was just going to respond with only…
Cool!
Which actually makes for a nice parody of the word use.

Cool.

I don’t see cool as annoying it’s ubiquitious on every culture on the planet.

Bieber I think is the most annoying word ever, followed by random when used in the wrong context, and cunt. I hope you see what I did there with the antichrist that is Bieber and that choice of words.

Ah, irony!

But who is cooler than him?

Chuck Norris, and just about anyone who has any discernible function upon this bleak and tainted planet.

Whatever.

Careful, that word is up there with cool. Though I might have used it myself in context.

Humour that is illogical Captain.

I fail to see the logic in your argument sir, like whatever.

Yeah, isn’t that ironic.

Or better still: “Like, you know, whatever. Just saying.”

Cool, eh?

Random, like you so get me yaaah.

Oh, I hate ‘just saying’. It’s a denial of responsibility with no content.

I think you are ugly, just saying.

Well, no. You were not ‘just saying.’ It wasn’t like a hiccup. You, being a human, perhaps a rather dim witted one, have motives.

I agree. But every now and again – with just the right inflection and timing – it’s precious.

Sure, sure, but then, implicitly, you are taking responsibility. It has a cruel wink in it.
But good point, with awareness, the context changes it.

the word troll is more annoying than the word cool, because cool actually means something

For me the most annoying word of 2012 was “thingy”.
I just moved to Northern England in August and they say it for EVERYTHING!
“Did you put the thingy in the thingy?”
“Bro…I don’t know what the fuck you’re saying.”
