Any intelligence advanced enough to exceed the speed of light and visit other star systems has to be benign. Destructive thinking would never allow it to achieve such high level of creativity. All the SF books and movies are way off base. But then, compassionate aliens don’t make for much drama. The Truth would loose big time at the box office…

I think that pure advancement would have replaced ego-based trivialities that hinder progression on this planet at present - the good of the whole: rather than the furtherment of the individual: I’d prefer that existence over this, for it would have a purpose…

I don’t mean in a commie sense, but rather in the sense that the conglomerates/power players should be leading in the direction of planetary progression, and not just pure consumerist progression - they might be, but I don’t see it/sense it, or it is too slow a progress to have any noticeable impact.

People hate change, I know, but the pace can be picked up without too much impact: if it’s done smoothly enough!

There is not enough money in all the banks in the World to manage an entire planet effectively via capital investment. Present fiscal restraints cannot even maintain existing infrastructures properly - let alone launch large-scale planet engineering projects. They cannot print more, because it will devalue that which they have already banked.

So what is plan B?

If we get rid of the idea of fase ownership and adopt a mentality of custodianship, and then all work together as an egalitarian global society stewarding the home planet as a single family estate - the comforts and pleasures of the future will be unimaginable. 100,000 generations of ancestral effort - all the blood sweat and tears - must end in a huge pay-off one day. I have the vision of cultivated Garden of Plenty in our future. All it takes is a collective change of mind. (Burn all the money!!!)

But most aren’t prepared to forgo immediate pleasure for the promise of that to come, so a collective change of mind won’t happen in our lifetime, or for millenia come to that!

Few are prepared to forgo the pleasures of life, so they need to be given the power to make changes/fuel progression: as they know best, and have the good of the planet in mind: not just the good of themself or their immediate family!

…to make that change come about will be no mean fete, but society hates change, and to implement that change will have to be ‘stealth-like’ or they will notice and rebel!

If it’s for the benefit of all: then it can only be good, and no-one can complain about that!
