@Fred80 I find existence intolerable and unbearable. By “existence” I am referring to an emotion called “existence”. That’s right I am defining a new emotion called existence. It is the default emotion of standard human existence.
I feel this emotion sitting down. Waking up in a chilly home. I’m not rich so I can’t afford room temperature heating. The temperature is 60 degrees here or colder. Just 60 degrees is too cold for me, has to be at least 68. It is the emotion you feel after you beat a videogame and then you wonder “now what”. Now you have to manage existence.
I define consciousness as an energy parasite / energy predator. For example when I was young I played with Legos. This satisfied me for a few days then I would get bored, feeling the Sisyphean weight of existence pulling me down. Then I would crave new Lego sets, then repeat the same process. This has effects in the real world, not just philosophical musings. It causes plastic waste to pile up in the real world and causes this “job culture” where people work jobs in capitalism for no reason.
I still work with Legos. But mainly for utility, engineering purposes. I avoid 3D printing when I can, 3D prints are always very low quality with large slop tolerances. I can’t afford CNC services so I use Legos when I can.
Existence is very similar to a melancholy kind of emotion. Now I refer to the “energy predator”. What fills me with joy is killing an animal with ranged weapons. Not close ranged weapons, with close range its personal, like anime, like Metal Gear Revengeance personal. The civilized, British nature of killing an animal with ranged weapons brings me joy. If I could, I would eat raw bloody meats, drinking the blood of my prey.
But because humans are overpopulated, I am not legally allowed to hunt everyday, but only once or twice a year. So its back to the melancholy of existence. The old ways, used to have a natural balance, where predators kept the natural balance of prey, consuming them before the prey could overpopulate, resulting in mass starvations and suffering of prey, since the plant production cannot keep up with prey demands.
So where do we go from here?
A solid start would be ASI. Ai told me that ASI would be able to create custom brains to escape from homeostasis. I’m pretty confident that ASI will be able to make these brains. If you don’t know what homeostasis means, what it means is with a standard human brain, if they do heroine they will get high then later crash and feel miserable. With ASI custom-made brains, they will just always feel high. I’m not sure if the high will last for 30,000 hrs then they crash, or the ASI can make continuous high that lasts longer than 30,000 hrs.
The other thing is, I am unsure of is do humans need to be physically beautiful? Could they look like ugly turds while being continuously high? That would imply there is no sexuality. But I think sexuality would enhance the high and if there’s no sexuality it might be missing something.
One thing I am sure of is that utopia is impossible without changing the default human. It is like the Matrix movie, they tried to make paradise using default humans, and the Architect kept failing and said it couldn’t be done. You can’t make paradise using default humans, they have to be modified. An example is Burnout Paradise, I played that game but got bored after an hour.
Then there’s the question of what to do in the meantime, while waiting for the modified humans? Well the obvious answer would be full-dive VR. Full-dive VR is kind of like a waiting room, an appetizer before Paradise. I think it will eventually have the same problems as current humanity though, and get stale. So the only real option is modified humans. Then the question is, now what to do while waiting for Full-dive VR? I guess there’s nothing to do. Work, gaming, society, are all distractions but they will become repetitive and boring, there is nothing to do but wait for full-dive VR at this point.
One good alternative is sports, exercise, but most parks are flat and boring, made by simpletons.
