When you were a boy, you constructed an ideal image of the good Old USA, from war films, TV dramas and Westerns. T And then there was the bullshit they told you at school. They were all lies.
The USA has not changed, YOU have changed.
You are neither as naive or ignorant as once you were, you have wised up.
Read some radical history if you can find it.
The People’s History of the USA , By Zinn, is a good place to start.
there are certain ideas …we wanted a democracy…we wanted religious freedom…we wanted checks and balances…
we are on a moral decline …the banks are too big to fail…big money has bought our government while we have been on a party…
we the citizens need to correct this now…not tomorrow…
The USA had an ideal in which it was interested, proud, and vested. It fought many battles for that sake. In 1913, that ideal was betrayed. And from that betrayal, corruption of the entire spirit and “soul” came.
Today, nothing is what it is called in USA (“fascism”), the Constitution has been usurped and used merely as plausible deniability for far more subtle manipulations. Capitalism was removed from Constitutional restraints so as to become the monopolistic regime altering a democratic nation into a socialistic nation, altering its soul into the very same vile spirit that had overcome Europe before there was an America. And all being orchestrated.
The soul of the USA, at least the elements that have been lost, were best described by de Tocqueville. Briefly, the USA was a good country because it was a country with strong religious convictions that bound people together with a sense of morality and community that allowed for the State to take a minimal role.
That makes virtually everything said on the first page of this thread farcical at best. You people and your ‘what we need is to stop the conservative Christians’ and your “What we need is a moral overhaul orchestrated by a strong leadership” and your ‘capitalism is the problem’ are demonstrating absolutely zero knowledge of the country’s origin and what defined it’s purpose, and are merely expressing your own personal desires for reform in the guise of ‘what went wrong’.
Being mad that something isn’t your way isn’t the same thing as the rest of us having lost our way.
This is what you know that you are doing: You know that you are coming up with your own ideas about how things ought to be, and because "This is what I want" isn't convincing enough, you are pretending that your own ideas are somehow connected to the nation's history in a way that they are not, and then spinning "Isn't it a shame that I don't get my way all the time" into "Isn't it a shame that this country has drifted so far from what I am pretending were it's core values". You must know that you're doing this, since it is obvious that you don't know what the core values of the US are/were, or else you know what they are and thus know they aren't yours. That makes the premise of the thread brazenly deceptive. Have you no shame? The 'let's make up a new Jesus' guy thinks the USA has lost it's way? How are you not laughing?
So yeah, the country has lost it’s soul? So let’s get back to a community-based country guided by core religious values that is suspicious of the Federal Government’s interference with commerce and civics. Yeah, didn’t think so.
Once the source of money was monopolistically controlled (thanks mostly to J.P.Morgan and Pres. Wilson), just as the Judeo-nazis boasted and inspired, it no longer mattered who was running the country. From the power of money, each of the other two elemental factors required to be a “god” over a country was usurped. The USA became “possessed” and lost its soul to what the Christians used to call “The Devil”, the destroyer, Shiva, using feminine ways to destroy all things and spawning a Nazi like regime to get it under control, “for the good of the people”.
