That also has its limitations. Nowadays when you apply for a job you are asked to sign a form that enables access to your police record. I’m sure it must be the same in the US. ALL past convictions will show up, so it’s not only sex offenders who have trouble getting jobs. Any kind of theft or fraud would essentially put you out of the running, or DUIs. You really need to have a completely clean record. It’s just the way the world is now. It might even be the same when you apply to rent a property. That wouldn’t suprise me.
Punishment for sex crimes should be severe. I am surprised they even let some of these people out of prison. Violent rape or sexual assault, especially against a minor, should come with life in prison with no get out of jail free card. We would all be much safer that way.
Why are you telling me that?
Why are you asking why? This is a place for discussion of ideas and opinions.
Yes, renting an apartment these days is like applying to work at the CIA. The level of background checks they do in crazy nowadays. All capital owners are paranoid about getting “sub-optimal” people in there. No tolerance for risk or normal human failings anymore, we must all be good little perfect drones with nothing problematic about us. Just wait, soon social credit will be included too and they can already see everything we do online. It’s only a matter of time before that data is also included.
What about the lesser crimes?
Big part of the problem is the lesser crimes are getting grouped together with the greater ones. I agree that dangerous sexual predators should be punished, my only qualm is how they deal with lesser offenders.

I don’t know, it would depend on the crime and how much harm they cased. I don’t believe in victimless crimes, so we need to measure the harm that was done. Any amount of harm caused should be punished. And I don’t mean fake harm like “he looked at me funny and I felt traumatized!” I mean real harm.
For example people with weird sexual fetishes, as long as they are not bothering anyone else then who cares. There is a difference between that and putting others in reckless endangerment, like driving drunk. Even if you don’t actually crash into anything or hurt anyone, driving drunk should be punished because you are directly putting others in harm’s way. A lot of the sexual stuff, I am guessing, is not really causing harm to anyone or putting anyone in danger. Like how oral sex used to be illegal. Who cares. If things are mutual or if no one else is involved then it’s not an issue. Morality policing isn’t something I care about. I want to focus resources on actual crimes and actual criminals. I still find it incredible our system lets violent rapists out of prison. Even if someone kidnaps a child and assaults them multiple times, that person is going to be released from prison at some point. Same with murderers. What a complete joke. Our society would be 95% safer if we lock such people up forever and throw away they key. Most violent crime is committed by repeat offenders anyway.
You could have written it without making it a reply to me. It has nothing to do with what I wrote.
You were the most recent one talking about criminal judgments against people for sex crimes. My post was a direct response to this idea.
If you don’t want people commenting on your posts then you might want to… not post.
Yes, the price of fish is shocking.
It’s called pulse fishing
I went down by the water and found some shiny stones, I think they were quartz.
“The love of women or females is largely transactional.”
Everything nowadays seems transactional. Whatever doesn’t want to be hides wisely in the dirt. Or maybe somewhere else as well, I couldn’t vouch for that.
I am actually arguing a majority of women or females the concept of love has always been laegely transactional hence the name of the thread being sexual capitalism.
For me a majority of women are sexual capitalists. Always has been from the very historical beginnings of humanity.
Female sexuality without regulation, limitation, intervention, and supervision is basically sexual eugenics revolving around male capital. Female sexuality revolves around male competition, power, influence, and dominance or otherwise the inequality of men competing against other men. Female sexuality is biological inequity.

But you must also admit there are real females out there, who are capable of real (non-capitalist) love. Am I wrong?
Just because there is SOME baseline transactionalism baked into the equation does not mean the entire equation is the same. Everything has conditions. We might speak of truly beautiful unconditional love, and this does exist and I know it exists because I have experienced it… and yet, everything even unconditional love has its conditions. This is reality after all.
For example, unconditional love still requires oxygen in the right proportions for human respiration. It requires temperatures within safe margins for humans to exist. It requires the sun to not explode in 10 seconds. And on and on. These facts do not belie the existence of unconditional LOVE because it is love that we are talking about here. The Being of Love itself. All secondary conditionals notwithstanding.
As I have said, some women are able to break away with their primitive biological hardwiring, but such women are an extreme minority where you can go your entire life without ever meeting one.
Extremely rare exception to the general majority rule. For a majority of women or females they are primitive baseline creatures like a horse traveling everywhere chasing a carrot on a string.

We all have primitive biological hardwiring. I wonder what it takes for anyone to overcome this, even if only a little?
For men it is easier, deep mental thinking or understanding comes natural to us.
For the majority of women or females however everything is superficial and largely superfluous.

I honestly think this describes a lot of males today too.
Chasing a carrot on a string.. is that not our dopamine addictions? Gaming, pron, internet forum posting, drugs… well?
