Well, in a sense, Capitalism is inherently sexual as a phallic phantasm of the social theorist’s mind,.
Aggression is an intimate part of sexual attraction. This phantasm acts as a plastic in which these aggressive elements can take form.
In reality, things like banking and finance are rather boring and unstimulating. On the other hand, money demonstrates power, so these otherwise boring activities can be fused into the plastic.
The goal of the phantasm is not to be endeared towards it, but to direct towards it sexual aggression.

Not sure I would use the word exciting, more on the lines of catastrophic.
Still, nature does have a way of balancing out these imbalances overtime. It would seem the collapse of entire societies or civilizations is merely an accelerant.
