The prevailing definition that ‘freedom’ means ‘independence’ from causality, is how the modern man deals with his own participation in the determination of his own fate.
It is victim psychosis looking for a new linguistic method to preserve its Abrahamic coping.
Just as ‘power’ does not mean omnipotence, but describes a relationship, so does ‘freedom’ refer to a relationship.
Just as knowledge does not mean omniscience, but refers to an appreciation of patterns, so does ‘freedom’ refers to the acknowledgment of one’s own strength relative to other.
First is the act…not the word.
The act is represented by the word…Will.
Will is not illusory…we all experience it in ourselves - even if after the fact - and in others.
Every biological action has an intent - Will.
That which is not alive has no intent - no-Will.
Our intents need not be conscious.
We judge and choose and act, way before our consciousness becomes involved.
We consciously impose upon our unconsciousness a particular behaviour, based on precedent. That is, we learn and based on this accumulated learning we adjust our actions - we adapt. We train ourselves.
We cultivate ourselves, over time.
If we fail to do so, we repeat the same actinos…resulting in the same consequences…which we then try to distance ourselves from by claiming that our failure was really inevitable.
We did not fail to learn and adapt, but we could not have ever done anything other than what we did.
A cope out…the mind finding excuses to explain why it failed to perceive, to learn, and to control itself.
