This is true

I have decided to put this in mundane babble… I am not trying to sound like a ‘‘real philosopher’’ (what the fuck?), or a bonofide intellectual… like many of the posters on here do!

YOU ARE SUFFERING… ALL THE TIME; FROM BIRTH TO DEATH EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE UP-RIGHT APES IS SUFFERING… EVEN WHEN WE ARE FEELING ‘PLEASURE’, WE ARE STILL SUFFERING… IN ONE FORM OR ANOTHER… AT ONE INTENSITY LEVEL OR ANOTHER…

This is as close to ‘‘truth’’ as we can get. That is all… for now.

This is sort of true but you could have worded it a little better.
Having said that, good luck discussing that kind of thing in this forum.

Whilst that might be true; it doesn’t shed any light on where we might take our lives. Are you saying that we should try to escape this suffering… or should we embrace it?

Do you want sympathy for your suffering? Or do you believe that no one deserves sympathy, since, apparently we are all suffering?

To me, saying that everyone is always suffering seems to trivialise the very real suffering that goes one in the lives of the less fortunate.

This IS TRUE!!
Any human being, no matter how much of an authority on whatever subject, may come up with a theory/doctrine, and another ‘clever’ human being will be able to find errors, flaws,et cetera, with it; so, even if i did ‘‘shed any light on where we might take our lives’’ someone would, in theory, be able to pull it to pieces, so to speak… Not that im able to say where our lives vshould be or what we should do with our lives… all of the history of philosophy is ‘intelligent guess-work’.
We are compelled to live; the first instinct of any living thing is to survive… We seem to be addicted to this suffering, so to speak. We are embracing this suffering.

I do not want any sympathy for my own suffering, and i cant help but feel sorry for some people, even though i know its pretty stupid and utterly useless.

Suffering comes in many different forms, each of these forms varying greatly in their intensity level… For example a mild discomfort is suffering at one intensity level, severe physical pain is suffering at another intensity level, but in both cases suffering is going on…

P.S: I’m quite drunk…

“Suffering” strikes me as a somewhat arbitrary term to describe the overall human condition. I mean, if the idea is that the word suffer is a better term than live to describe what it is we’re doing here, fine. I just don’t see the profundity. (Not that you were trying to be profound, just saying.)

“Humans don’t live their lives, they suffer them.”

“To live is to suffer.”

Etc.

Fine. Okay. And?

Just sounds to me like you’re wallowing in some self-pity.

Also, this idea is basically the foundation of several Eastern religions/philosophies if you were unaware, so its claim to “truth” is indeed fairly strong.

Cheers.

A phrase which should be avoided when posting to forums.

Welcome to Nihilism, enjoy your stay, and your suffering.
