This subject fascinates me quite a bit, can human consciousness survive the passing of death?
If consciousness can survive beyond death, how does it do that? Is it reincarnation, or something else?
Is material annihilationism wrong?
If you are looking at reincarnation through a physicalist/materialism model of the universe, for example, then it seems impossible. So, whenever we evaluate an idea, we evaluate it through our biases. There are other modern philosophical positions that many modern people assume (perhaps without even noticing) that also make it ‘harder to imagine’.

I am not entirely convinced that a purely materialist or empirical model of reality and the cosmos is sufficient by itself in explaining all of existence.
I’m entirely convinced that that model doesn’t even make sense, because the words no longer have a stable meaning.

Physical used to mean chairs, rocks, bodies, even wind. Now in the set of the physical you can have something like neutrinos passing through your body. In fact 8.6 sexillion (8.6 × 10¹⁸ or about 8.6 billion trillion) pass through your body every day. How many impacts, statistically will this lead to: perhaps once in your lifetime. Now get this: neutrinos actually do have a little, tiny bit of mass. There are massless particles. So, we have physical things passing through you in billions of trillions and they never touch you. And you have ‘physical’ things that have no mass at all. You have particles in superposition (not even manifest) and they are physical. You have different kinds of energy fields and they are physical. Anything, and I mean anything, that science decides is real, will be called physical, regardless of what qualities it has or doesn’t have. The term just mean ‘real’ or ‘verified’ now. It doesn’t mean anything about what it is made of.

Science tries to make mental sense of the world around us and I give it credit for making that attempt where before we had nothing but ignorance, however, and as I am well sure you already know it cannot encompass everything because there is so much about reality or existence we simply know absolutely nothing about.
Absolute certainty about everything eludes us constantly.

And some wondered why there was more confusion and less understanding in the world when this was being written.

It could be said and argued that human beings used to be able to live in the non human being made up world, whereas people of ‘today’, when this is being written, are far more ignorant.
And, there is so much more that is simply known, in the days when this is being written, than most people know anything about.

When a human body is breathing/pumping blood and there is consciousness within that human body, then after that human body stops breathing/pumping blood, then the ‘consciousness’ within stops. However, part of ‘that consciousness’ had already been past on, and as the word ‘reincarnation’ implies, ‘consciousness’ is re-incarnated within other human bodies.
There is absolutely nothing hard nor complex to understand and know here.
