Undoubtedly will ruffle the feathers of some members on the forum here but I do not look favorably at transhumanism at all.
For me transhumanism is the final form of economic capitalism where it enslaves everybody through technology, automation, and concentrating all forms of financial businesses into fewer hands making the majority of the population into a bunch of rent seeking dependents.
It is a technological dystopia of biometric identification, precrime, mass surveillance, and political thought crimes.
It is a technological dystopia with aspirations of machines, computers, or algorithms being able to read the thoughts of people because the end goal is to control all of human thought altogether. Those that control human thoughts of the mind conquer the human soul itself and transhumanists seek to replace all of that with an automated machine complex.
It is a technological dystopia of grenade flying drones that kills people instantaneously by the push of a button and where the temptation exists by these technological tyrants to put explosive neck braces on their workers terminating them remotely should they ever get out of line.
For those selling transhumanist technological future utopias I am not buying into it at all. The potential for misuse and overall abuse of human beings through a transhumanist organization is too much to be ignored.
It all sounds very negative but it seems very much to be a human issue, a human misuse of technology due to being primitive and limited human species that haven’t evolved socially.
Your complaints seem to be vague technophobias rather than direct complaints about transhumanism… Transhumanism is the expansion of human evolution and involves genetic enhancements, cyborg enhancements, etc… Technophobia refers to vague fears about dystopian corporations “putting landmines on slave’s necks” as you put it… this is not transhumanism but conventional human weapons in the hands of barbarians…
You said yourself you identify as a “totalitarian autocrat” so please explain to me in your own terms what you meant by that.
Yes, I am a totalitarian autocrat. I don’t deny being such. The difference is that as a Marxist I seek to improve the lives of a majority of people against the tyrannical few.
Transhumanism is where the tyrannical few enslaves humanity through technological automation.
Tyranny of the majority versus tyranny of the minority. I support the tyranny of the majority where the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
Once again, the future as espoused by transhumanists has the potential for misuse and abuse of people all over the place. That is why I remain skeptical of so called transhumanist technological future utopias.
That is just your dystopian definition, fueled by your fears…
Nobody actually defines transhumanism as that. Most define it as positive, universal health care, helping amputees, helping make synthetic organs for people with diseases, cleaner cities, smarter humans, peace on earth, UBI for the poor, etc.
They will not ever institute universal basic income for a population they view as useless eaters or useless human cattle.
More realistically when they reach a special level of technological advancement and superiority they’ll seek to eliminate everybody else who they view as being a waste on the planet’s natural resources. For them global conquest for themselves is everything, it’s their entire worldview for existing.
Sorry buddy, I have to once again pop another one of your massive delusions.
Paranoia, may be true, may not be true, may happen, may never happen…
In any case…
I would like to hear more about what you will say in 2090… if transhumanism never happens, but all the dystopian things happen, cameras everywhere, dystopian AI enforcers patrol the systems, Corporations force people to work as slaves… None of that is transhumanism, its technocratic dystopia… Implanting GPS trackers in people is not transhumanism… Its technocrat dystopia… WW3 fought by drones is not transhumanism… what is your comment on that…?
Technocratic dystopia can happen with or without transhumanism. Cameras everywhere is not transhumanism. Ai robot enforcers is not transhumanism. Greedy corporations are not transhumanism. Corrupt governments is not transhumanism.
One could argue that “putting GPS trackers in people is transhumanism” but I find that argument very weak, very weak indeed. Transhumanism is not required for that, its just a basic incision and old GPS technology.
Transhumanism refers to transcending the human condition. Transcending greedy corporations and crooked government. Becoming something more than human, becoming a higher breed of human.
You aren’t saying anything. You are just saying “im right you’re wrong”… You are saying we must categorically lump killer drones and WW3 all as “transhumanism”… why? Its clear they are separate things, but you say we must lump them together definitionally.. why… because you say so, I don’t see any reasoning provided why we must define them as the same.
If you want to keep the faith in transhumanism, who am I to take it away from you? I just believe your faith is severely misplaced where you’re going to be very disappointed, but that’s for you to find out all on your own young man.
Are mustard gas and rifles and WW1 transhumanism? All tech… transhumanism?
What does complaining about transhumanism have to do with WW3 and drone warfare? Is complaining about transhumanism gonna save us from WW3 and corporations? I don’t get it.
No idea what “transhumanism” is but it sounds suspicious. Does it involve turning humans into machines so we can better serve our corporate masters?
That would be Mr. A’s definition, founded by his fears.
Not the usual definition of transhumanism given by its supporters, only its detractors.
The usual definition is that transhumanism is freedom from capitalism and corporations, robots will do the work of humanity and UBI will be given to all. Humans can turn into partial machines, cyborgs, giving them various enhancements, smarter, stronger, healthier, happier, etc. Transhumanism could also mean biological enhancements, genetic edits, not cyborgs. Clean energy for all, green energy for all, freedom from Sisyphus, freedom from slavery.
Turning us into machines or just killing us off in general. Think eugenics but with a technocracy in control of everything along with A.I. drone robotics.
