Trixie is on probation, and would appreciate any donations. She needs 1,500$ by next year or she will get a 200$ late fee. She also has to pay a fee of $120 a month. If you are interested in helping her, please send her a PM to discuss a payment plan.
If not, your choice, but consequences may happen to Trixie.
I can help you skip out on probation (I could write a manual on it) but I refuse to help you pay for it.
Realistically though, if you didn’t pay the fines and fees, they wouldn’t put you in jail for a period of time that would cost the county or city more than what you owed them. Typically housing an inmate costs at least 100 dollars a day… so you’d be looking at a few weeks in jail.
Also, not paying a court fine or court costs is not a violation of your probation; legally they can’t charge you for being broke. At worst, they can violate your probation for not paying probation fees (not fines or costs) and put you in jail for a very, very short time. So short you won’t have enough time to take the inmates for all their canteen on the scrabble board. Ideally you want to leave the jail with a bag full of cheetos and ramen noodles so you’ll have something to eat while you get reestablished on the street and back in the game.
They can throw you in jail, many states do just this. It took awhile to convince judges in West Virginia not to do this, so for those who can’t pay, they have community service… you get a piece of paper, get people to sign off you did so many hours of work. We got a homeless guy off the street who was hiding from the cops, unable to pay his misdemeanor fines from a decade back.
Just… some states allow bill collection agencies to hunt you down, looking for the money, taking in payment 70% plus of what is owed, causing massive turmoil and hatred and disrespect of the courts and law. They become worst repeat offenders, thrown right back into jail.
We supposedly outlawed our colonial era debt jails, but these states exploit a legal loophole. Its very cute the idea of getting the lower courts to pay for themselves, but a society shouldn’t have such a court system unless it was willing to pay in gull for it themselves. Same for prisons, none if this make the prisoner pay crap, it’s impossible for excons in many cases to find work. In order to pay, you gotta steal to pay that shit off.
We got a lot of shitheads when it comes to the judiciary. They try to balance stopping a few dozen thefts a month with millions of dollars of imprisonment costs here, but when I’ve researched it, it was usually because the family was laid off, didn’t have a functioning car, etc. Its cheaper just getting rural vans to pick these people up for work, than to house them in jail. Unfortunately my city borders three states, and its rural on each side, so we attract a lot of interstate crime, even from far away Chicago. So a lot of people are fined without considering their motivations or means to pay. At least now for the more minor crimes you can just go mop a floor or rake leaves, or index library books in a electronic card catelog. Its not some harassment company trying to duck the blood out of you, threatening to further degrade your credit score to zero so you’ll never find work.
I am from over here and so cannot pay you in dollars but I really hope that you do not go to jail now
So could all of the Americans on the site get something going for Trixie as she is my favourite poster
Listen. Unless you are on probation for some kind of violent felony and have a suspended sentence, you might do a month in the county jail (not prison so relax) for not paying a measley fine of a couple thousand.
Probation wants to MAKE money off of you, not spend money on you. They would much rather have you paying 40 dollars a month for three years than eliminate that opportunity by incarcerating you… and turning you into a liability.
People who violate probation they are on for low level crimes don’t do much time in jail unless they have a suspended sentence. Do you have one?
What did you do, slash a tire? Yeah they don’t have any room in jail for tire slashers, trixie. What’s gonna happen is, your going to pay a lawyer to tell you what I just told you, and then when you go to court you’re gonna hear the judge say either: extend the probation period…so we can milk you of 40 a month for two more years, or 14 days in jail and no probation when you get out.
Me, I always take the latter option. I’d rather go to jail for a few months than be on probation for five years and have random piss tests sprung on me.
If your concern is safety, jail is nothing like prison. Far more secure and safe. There is much more restriction in jail so the chances of a violent confrontation between inmates are significantly less.
Do the time man. Everybody should do a little jail time. It’s very philosophical.
I too support the idea of you regularly going to jail.
I would usually say be careful and don’t drop your soap, but in your case I don’t think you would mind too much. Just the question arises in your case, do they jail you in the male or female wing? Id be kinda pissed if they sent you to the Martha Stewart prison-resort she got sent to just cause you cut your cock off and took a estrogen shot. If that’s all it takes, then everyone will cut off their cocks for a transfer.
