Turkish Coup Finally Underway

Thousands being rounded up and imprisoned as we speak right now. A wholesale political purge. Very interesting indeed.

I wonder how this will effect Turkey’s admission into the E.U. afterwards.

Russia for all we know could be instigating this in a very clandestine manner while condemning it publicly.

No… Russia isn’t this incompetent.

Guess I should go check the news updates, last I head 1,500 hundred arrests, 42 colonels and 5 generals included… I’m certain 42 colonels could muster far more than half a stinking brigade.

Very interesting how Turkey is blaming the coup on the United States with that whole Gelen affair.

Then there is the Incirlik air force base in Turkey as well that stores nuclear missiles…

I’ve been following the supposed Russian base being set up in Azeribiajan… turned out to be a single logistics building Turkey has been using for a while anyway… for transporting troops to afganistan. Their other base is next to a US base… and their bids on Somali ports in Somali is admittedly creepy, especially in the stable northern areas, but they aren’t the only country doing this, they even do this in the US… Saudi Arabia wanted to run our ports just after 9-11.

The airbase is a minor issue, would rather have it in Cyprus or Iraqi Kurdistan in all honesty,we’ve had that base the entirety of the cold war, is very old news joker.

Whenever Turkey has a coup, US just says “awe shit” and hunkers down, waiting to see what the character is like. Erdogan’s coup in the recent elections… rejecting his lost and forcing a devote after attacking the Kurds for not voting for him, is a coup against democracy. Don’t see why he even bothered with the second election… clear he wasnt ever giving up power.

The troop composition in this so called coup was very wrong. NATO doctrine stresses combined arms, mixing the abilities of different unit types together… I get why you would use buses in the very beginning… you need stealth, but within the first hour, heavy mech units (not tanks) needed to be fielded.

I’he read Turkey had 6 hours to 2 days notice of the coup… but this doesn’t explain the odd theatrics Erdogan went through, how the Army Chief was “captured” or “freed”, or why the supposed secular, pro-democracy coup secured then bombed the very Parliament they we’re defending, or how Erdogan could so confidently land in Istanbul…

The troops on the bridge didn’t even look worried, didn’t set up defensive barriers, when the tanks arrived later didn’t set up a competent blockade… it came to a absolute shock to them that they were “the main force” of the coup in the end.

I still see no evidence more than roughly one battalion worth of men, around the country, actually were involved. They broke a stupid clock tower in Izmir (again, bizarre).

The coup seemed more interested in destroying state and national symbols that you would presume they supported, then in… killing Erdogan and his top henchmen.

I still think the real coup is coming, and it will happen within Erdogan’s own party. You just gotta bump the guy off first. He has his presidential palace set up like the Pentagon. If you do it right, you can bump him off, say he is sick for a week, weed out his top players (don’t even mention they are missing), and then say he died of natural causes.

I doubt there is a stream of ego driven replacements who would do as he has done. It be like killing Hitler just after he got elected… the next Nazi in line for the Furher would be a anti-Semite, perhaps even a expansionist, but no match for Stalin or Churchill. There wouldn’t be much of a Nazi Empire, or the horrible ends the pogroms went with the gas chambers. You would of had a hum-drum Nazi making compromises to secure his office with other parties, realizing just how precarious of a strategic position Germany actually was in. Invade France… or Czechoslovakia… maybe. The rest… doubtful. Few would be so stupid to gamble the gains away.

Hence I think a quite coup in house is in order. One nobody save a few on the up and up notices, like me. Erdogan gets sick… week… Fuck no, make it a month of national mourning. War against the Kurds ends, Turkey moves back towards democracy again, becomes more moderate and main stream, peace made against secularization (Gulen)… slowly. Nobody knows Erdogan was screaming in a basement room in his palace having the shit beat out of him for days to get this or that info out of him, before putting him out of his misery.

Those are the best coups. The whole “The King Is Dead, Long Live The King” scenario… doesn’t occur to anyone something was up, and in the beginning it seems nothing has changed. Deploy a peace keeping force to the Congo, a national tragedy as the general dies… “oh no!” Another goes out in a training accident. Think the Army is going to be accident prone for a while. Lots of suspected but unproveable fragging situations… was it one of our own, or the Kurds, or ISIS? No… it was Muhammad the pissed off Buck Sargent who wants his country back, and knows his new colonel is a political appointment, having jailed his old one.

Hi people,

Still alive btw.

Hi to anyone still around from the old days, nice to see lip is still up and running.

No, they all died.

Tab holy shit.

Most people have left or were banned. We went through a bleak period. Things are pretty good now. It seems there are no more sane people left which is why we get along. At least no more people insisting that we hold to standards of common sense.

ILP Is the vanguard of some future. Let’s hope it never comes.

[-o<

Im joking. It will come.

Hey stranger…

Hey fixed, joker, good to see you’re still around.

Joker, you good…? Life hopefully has managed to throw you some bones in the meantime. And hi to your lady friend too.

Fixed  , the ilp I remember never had much common sense anyway.

We’re you not like, Iambigious’ only friend? He needs help, I’m half convinced the guy died a few years ago, and a mortuary service is maintaining his AI not around, saying the same repetitive shit over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. It is beyond all meaning at this point.

Maybe you can reach out to him and find out what the fuck went wrong. We’ve all agreed someone needs to be his friend, but nobody wants to volunteer. Your the best candidate if memory serves correctly.

Also… Glad to hear you took your wife and family and returned back to the UK, given all the instability in Turkey. That was very wise for you to do.
