They aren’t entirely sure what will happen to her, but I’m thinking that she’s going to get a big cash settlement. Oh, what’s going to happen to her medically? Well, she’ll die, obviously…
Secondly a man celebrating his golden wedding anniversary with his wife has eaten a chicken that has been sealed in a can for 50 years. Les Lailey (no, I’m not making this is up) put the chicken in a can in the back of his cupboard where it has remained until recently. “Mr Lailey, a former soldier, said he had not felt ill since eating the chicken.”
In particular I love the picture used in this story - Les has an expression of grim determination as though he’s thinking ‘come hell or high water I’m going to eat this bugger’ and his wife has an expression of curious terror as though she’s expecting him to keep over at any moment…

That girl looks like Matt Lucas. Anyway, ive read both of those stories before. Does that girl realy think shes gonna live 10-15 years? I get a strange feeling when I think about that fact that somebody made a simple mistake and it cost someone a life, its disturbing but it happens. Hence the problem of all giant technology being controlled by switches barely different to those one use to work the lift or program the video. It’s stupid, one can hardly expect someone to take it particularly seriously when all they’ve got to do is flick a few buttons…
But if you make the process more complicated this could leave room for more error. Although perhaps if people are put under more pressure they will perform better. I can imagine such large mistakes being made in surgery… no “Ooops i cut the main artery, my bad.”
