Hilarious, this really is a nation of bureaucrats and court judges funded [bribed] by the capitalist class who have more power than sitting presidents.
This is setting up a government and constitutional crisis where the executive branch of government needs to get the approval of 677 judges just to pass any kind of meaningful national legislation agenda. Democracy and representative republic is essentially dead, just stick a fork in it. It’s over.
Democrats- “You cannot just try to rebuild America’s economy and infrastructure nationally. We’re going to continue selling out to China with a slow hyperinflation of the United States dollar into oblivion, this has been our ongoing economic agenda the last thirty five years where not even Donald Trump is going to stop us. Quick, bribe them federal judges!”
you do realize that the president is a capitalist?
Yes, this surprises you, why?
Anymore in the United States politics goes like this, republicans pretend to care about the working class and democrats pretend that problems affecting the working class doesn’t exist at all. So, while I hate republicans, I hate democrats just a little more. Ultimately I despise both political parties.
Well, in fact according to the US Constitution, the power to establish tariffs is given to congress. Sure they already passed some laws in the past, which delegate some of this power to the president. But that has limits. Trump wants to basically do blanket general tariffs on the entire economy for entire nations, not only targeted ones for certain products or industries. That is what the court ruled illegal. They upheld his limited tariffs like on steel imports.
I despise them both, but yes the libs tend to be more dishonest and traitorous.
Republicans are pretty honest and straightforward concerning their atrocious beliefs, democrats on the other hand will lie through their teeth while smiling telling you that their dishonesty is good for your own wellbeing.
Two examples from my personal experience on this.
-
debating abortion with a lib. After at least an hour of being very calm, very kind and understanding but also making very simply, logical rational and MORAL arguments, I FINALLY got her to admit that abortion was wrong in most cases (we stipulated to things like rape and incest). Then the very next day, when I brought up the subject again casually, she started yelling and being very reactive about abortion is a woman’s right, it is fine, blah blah the very same stuff as before. Like she completely forgot the entire conversation and what she agreed to the previous day.

discussion about transgender with a lib friend and another friend who was neutral on the subject. I managed to get the lib into a trap with his own claims, since he couldn’t define what is a gender other than “what someone feels like” and clearly if someone feels like a squirrel gender then we must accept that, right? He of course agreed yes we should be kind and accepting. I managed to get him to realize somewhat indirectly how insane that is, like a schizophrenic who really does think they are Jesus reborn, do you actually go along with their delusion? Do you REALLY BELIEVE that they are actually Jesus reborn, or that someone who thinks they are a squrrel is REALLY a squirrel trapped in a human body and we should use their squirrel pronouns? Of course at this point he was desperate for any escape and demands I explain why gender is binary, as if that would trap me… so I calmly explain that yes, things like intersex do exist, hermaphrodites, and people who do genuinely believe they are some other sex or gender (although he wouldn’t admit the distinction that gender is just another way to refer to sex linguistically, that was another trap I got him into… libs confuse gender with things like gender roles and gender identity, not even realizing that the whole GENDER in GENDER roles and GENDER identity is a clue that gender itself cannot merely be reduced to these attributes OF genders)… that despite things like genetic diseases and psychological delusions, humans are a dimorphic species biologically and 99% of the population is coded deeply in our genes to be one of two templates, what we call a male or a female. Changing your hormones or having surgery or calling yourself different names doesn’t change any of that for you personally, nor does it change the fact that the human species is divided into two basic sexual templates. And the fact there are imperfection like genetic diseases of intersex and people who have confusions about what they really are, doesn’t change any of that. Well I could actually see his mind melting in real time as I explained this, he just sort of slouched over and began to slow down in his words, almost like he was melting. It was weird. He wouldn’t admit I was right, and just started quietly repeating the same slogan sort of things “we should be kind to them…” ignoring entirely all of the rational points I was making.
Right-wing people, on the other hand, are proud of their beliefs even if they are silly, outdated, irrational or whatever. I find that the errors of the political right tend to be rooted in idealistic, hopeful clinging to actually good and meaningful values, albeit confused since the world around them is something they don’t comprehend anymore; whereas the errors of the political left are so insane these days, so out of touch with basic logic and even with basic valuation that they cannot even form coherent arguments, they become emotional almost immediately. “Being nice to everyone” isn’t a value, it is a pathological extension of maternal instinct. Maternal instinct itself is very useful and a good value, but using it as the basis for all the values of an entire society is insane.
My experiences with neoliberals is that all of their talking points is what they’ve been trained to think. Simply incapable of an original independent articulate thought of their own. Either they’re trained to think a sort of way at university in terms of vocation or the corporate culture where they work at in terms of human resources.
Neoconservatives have a similar mindset in that all of their talking points is from a popular political talking head personality or from a news network but at least they don’t try to censor you telling you what you can and can’t talk about. Neoliberals on the other hand love telling people what kind of opinions or beliefs people can and can’t have.
All in all we live in a world where genuine independent critical thought is in short supply.
Trump’s tarrifs are kinda like pulling a cart before a horse, or more aptly, walking onto a bridge made of thin air, before the bridge is constructed.
Obviously American infrastructure is not to the point of self-sufficiency, and most American jobs are servile jobs, not manufacturing jobs. Obviously we need robots and UBI first before any kind of tariffs or trying to run a self-sufficient economy. You cannot compete with foreign slave labor with the massive wages Americans demand.
Even now the American postal wages are running our country into the ground, it is cheaper to ship from China than ship domestically from businesses in our country. And July the American postal service wants to raise their prices even more.
Well, you could pay workers more if you cut the money of corporate CEOS and shareholders, but the cultural mindset is that the average blue collar worker are stupid idiotic drones that get what they deserve where piss runs downhill, that is until all those working class drones start banding together demanding revolution.
Yes the budgets of CEOs and shareholders should be cut, they get paid far too much for running their companies to the ground (2 billion dollars in fact.)
In the 1960’s, companies were more controlled by their CEOs, nowadays it’s the shareholders which decide the direction of a company. That is why businesses make strange decisions and there isn’t any innovation. It is about profiting the shareholders but CEOs get paid far too much as well while they have hardly any role in the company.
That being said, there is a large price to maintain American standards and the way of life. Third worlders can live in villages in huts while Americans have to have a large home and 2 cars and then saving 200k for college. The average american spends 10K a year just in consumer goods. Who needs all of that? Most of it ends up in landfills anyway because they are too stupid and lazy to repair it. Or because the business disobeys right to repair laws and intentionally makes it difficult to repair. You simply can’t compete with third-world slaves while also demanding to uphold American standards and the way of life. In addition to that there is all the beauracratic red-tape and quality control and regulations and fees you get in first not third world countries. In other countries what you get is what you get, if a few products fail out of 99 from the factory, then sobeit.
And if you ask me, its the increased price of housing that’s running our country to the ground. Workers demand more wages to compensate for the increased cost of housing. Prices of commodities go up to match the cost of housing. And the mainstream media frames the housing bubble crash as a bad thing when in fact such a thing is very much a good thing for Americans.
Having lived in the United States my entire life I can say with 100% the establishment will never raise the living standards of workers here willingly where they’ll let the entire nation collapse before ever considering it. But once the United States does collapse in one form or another the angry starving masses will demand socialism, they may not be socialists today but at some point a majority of people will be economic socialists in the future.
