Post some websites, toolbars, things like that you find useful.
Stumbleupon! - It’s a toolbar. You click on a list of things that interest you, like humor, videos, photography, politics, news, stuff like that, and then you hit “Stumble!” and it takes you to some website you would have never found about things you might like. Very addictive. Everybody has it, I know, but in case you’re missing out: stumbleupon.com
tinypic.com - hosting pics (and videos, but I’ve never tried that). It’s like imageshack before they sold out. Easy to use, no ads.
plato.stanford.edu - A philosophic encyclopedia of sorts. A lot of great articles on there about pretty much everything philosophy
ovguide.com - Quit downloading movies. You waste space on your computer. Go to this website, search the movie/tvshow/whatever you want, and it’ll give you all the websites that carry it embeded like youtube.
etymonline.com - Useful for looking up etymology of words to get a better understanding of a word.
ninjawords.com/ - A really fast dictionary…fast like a ninja.
librivox.org/ - Download free audio books. Especially useful if you have to drive a lot.
oyc.yale.edu/ - Video of lectures of some Yale classes.
http://etext.virginia.edu/DicHist/alpha/alpha-all.html dictionary of the history of ideas. maybe i came across this link on this very site but in case anybody missed it, here it is. a dictionary of the history of ideas. sorted in alphabetical format.
I thought it might be worthwhile to post a selection of decent youtube pages, y’know the ones with documentaries and whatnot. i’ll return with those once i remember my password.
The Stanford online dictionary is one of my favourite online philosophy resources; it’s generally incredibly helpful as a starting reference or a good source for further reading.
However, the address doesn’t need a ‘www.’ in it xzc, it’s just plato.stanford.edu/
