I agree with that statement, what are other people’s thoughts on this here?

I have lived a long time and in California, where
I have lived over 40 years, I have never, NEVER,
heard anyone apologizing for being white… the most I hear
is people acknowledging that because they are white,
they have some white privilege… and to deny that
is insane… being white does allow some
privileges… just as being a man, as I am,
has some advantages, as does being good looking
as I am, has advantages… those are simple facts of life…
to be very clear, I have never heard anyone ever apologize for
being white…

I don’t apologize for being variegated. I also don’t wanna hear what JD Vance has to say about anything until they stop going after people just seeking a better life in a world that doesn’t keep greed in check. Just being honest. Also muting this thread.

I totally agree. I think that anyone apologising for the genetic traits they are born with is ridiculous. Should I apologise for being well adapted to a cold northern environment?
However.. it’s a loaded statement and implies that that is what is being requested. It’s like when your Mum says “well excuse me for being alive..”, as if that’s what the problem was.
The question is, more accurately:
Should you, as a white person, have to apologise for the way that white people have treated other races over the course of history?
But again, the answer is no. I’m not responsible for what my ancestors did. Why should I apologise for their actions? So lets refine the question further:
Should white people be aware of the way their ancestors have behaved towards other races and understand why it was wrong?
That’s a more sane question, and for me, the answer is “yes”. No apologies needed. No grovelling needed. No reverse subjugation. Just awareness.

You know what all your ancestors did? Do you know how genealogy works? Most ‘non whites’ in the US if not all have ‘white’ ancestors. You haven’t thought this through very carefully have you?

I for one believe liberal anti white or anti whiteness hysterics politically to be a bad thing.
Also, white Europeans have done some terrible things in our historical past but the same can be said of every other race and ethnicity around the world. It’s not something unique to white people alone no matter what hysterical liberals have to say on the subject.

Um, no. Not to the same extent, not at all. Muslims over the course of their long history were responsible for a total of about 20M deaths, as far as I’m aware. White people? They can knock that out in a century..

The answer is yes, and you would know this if you watched anime shows. The heroic anime character with manners would say “sorry that my ancestors did that to your kind” or something like that because its the gentlemanly thing to say.

Perhaps. I’ve never personally had to apologise to anyone for my ancestors, I just got chatting to them instead. But in Japan there is more of a sense of ancestral honour, it’s a big part of their culture, so it doesn’t surprise me that they do this, and you’re right, it is quite gentlemanly and honourable.
But to be perfectly realistic, I can’t see white people going for it, they tend to be slightly more arrogant about such things.
If they are just aware, then I think that’s a good start.

I’m pretty sure that ‘white’ is not an ‘ethnicity’. I think you are trying to be ‘clever and ironic’ but you are falling desperately short. Perhaps just try saying what you mean next time? It’s really not that hard.
