THANK YOU! Lambert knew why he was on the field. Smash mouth football!! But the same could be said of every player on the team in those years. They won because they simply refused any other option and had the team will to prove it. Ah, nostalgia… Thanks again.

Yeah, the possibles are what is going to make the game interesting. I agree that the “miracle” plays plus making fewer mistakes than the other guy could well decide the game. The pack can be explosive, but I was really impressed with the steeler ability to chew up the clock in those long drives. I think the jets would have won if they could have had their offense on the field - or had 5 quarters instead of 4. Finally, I look at the overall team maturity. Greenbay? Maybe next year, but the steelers look more like a team on both sides of the ball. Dunno. I wouldn’t give points either way on this one. I can easily see a 3 point winning margin on a field goal in the last 10 seconds of the game.

I question the Packers Rush Defense, so I agree that Pittsburgh will have the opportunity to chew clock. At the same time, though, chewing clock doesn’t matter as much if your opposition is matching you score for score, and I think that the Packers have the firepower to do that. In fact, I think a key for the Packers is going to be to get ahead early and be successful in stopping the run on 1st and 2nd down to force Roethlisberger to try to convert a few medium-long 3rd downs through the air.

I agree that the Steelers are the more complete team, and their defense is just effing nasty. Ultimately, I’d probably pick the Steelers, but I’m not giving so much as one point, either.

Et tu, rainey? [And yes, he WAS mean!] Well, at least YOU’RE from Pittsburgh, so your Steeler support, while misguided, is at least understandable.

The worst of it is, I got zilch to come back with - no basis for trash talk whatsoever, that’s what kills me. There’s no video on YouTube that I can dig out with pride, dammit, no passed glory days that I get to relive. And yet I just - can’t - seem - to quit a team who lets me down year after year. What is wrong with me?!

I think I’m just going to slink quietly out of this thread… but not before letting it be known that you Steelers fans want to stay on my good side; else I may have to start rooting for Pittsburgh. And do you really want to see the fallout from that?
