Views on Men and Women doing the same things

Is there a difference between how men and women are seen, even if they do the same things? Say, if men were to play football, people wouldn’t really care. However if women played football, people might find it strange. …But that’s just example.

i think the logical decision for this site would have been to make a board for beginners, not experts.

no offense, but ive thought many of these threads to death years ago. think of something that will blow everyones mind.

Jeez, I’m sorry. I didn’t know there were other topics like this. This wasn’t even meant to be a feminism topic.
…Too bad I can’t delete this fucking topic.

ah youll be alright, im sure there have been and there are still plenty of people who will respond to this.

sorry to sound so rude. i do that sometimes and now i feel bad so youve earned yourself one free Future Man analysis of some other, more interesting post youll make.

Ignore Future man, he is rather entrenched inside his own behind.

While this isn’t philosophy, we can derive some philosophy from it. Plato had a vision, for example, of a perfect state (or perfect society) and in this, the women and the men were trained in the same things. Women could become guards, and men could cook. However, Plato considered that in all things, women would be likely to do not quite as well as men.

He has been considered quite forward thinking for his time.

girls always try to say that they are equal and they can do everything the same well i cant have a baby thats for damn sure

or a period! they seem to think that hormones mean nothing. thats because they have never lived a life without 5 lbs of them in their blood at any given time.

if only they knew how great it was.

This is actually a very good argument. If you ever get into Greek Philosophy, ready Book four of Plato’s Republic and Socrates(Plato LOL) gives a very good account of what he thinks women’s place in society should be.

what does that mean? sorry if everybody but me knows the answer and it has nothing to do w/ this thread…

let’s play hangman

Hint: 1-3 days out of every month

Wouldn’t that all be entirely relative to the observer?
One’s society might dictate a kind of group think mass opinion, personally, watching women run around and observing the resultant bouncing is, for me, a thing of beauty.

In other words, society/culture might define what is acceptable and what isn’t for gender roles… none of that can ultimately account for personal tastes however. So, as viewed by an individual, opinions will differ. As judged against societal norms… well most folks have their happy little categories don’t they?

perhaps the place for women that is soceitally normal is accepted because it has been observed to be the place that they are best at filling.

maybe we should find a way to objectively analyze that and see just how good are men at being moms and how good are women at doing a mans job and how good are kids at raising themselves.

Evidence people, evidence.

“Women are physically weaker than men.” Most of us would agree, if “physical” takes no count of the brains. So the question is:" would you still agree if ‘physical’ does include the brains?

(Be careful now!)
