Well... That was depressing

Some woman was talking to me about how god was a he, and she met him and knows his voice.

My take on this is that women mostly want a daddy figure, and men just follow the female psychology just to get sex from them.

So why was God described as a he in the Bible, written mostly by men?

I am curious how you get from god’s voice to sex???

Most women have a Daddy figure- their Daddy. There really are not/have not been enough women in this world with an agonizing lack of a father figure in their lives for a major world religion to have been shaped by them. If a religion did arise because people were lacking paternal stability in their lives, one would expect it to begin in African American urban culture, not among patriarchal Jews.

Man those Catholic priests have a very confused strategy. So does the Pope.

Men want sex; women want security. God might be man, woman and child, not a he. In olden times such masculine words as “mankind” and “he” were used to describe all humans. This use of words still remains in the average vocabulary despite the women’s liberation movement. History was written by men. Maybe herstory remains to be told. It is not a daddy issue. The woman who told you God is a he is living in the past. Let her have whatever makes her able to cope in this mad world.

The gender assumptions on ILP never cease to amuse me.

Women want adventure, not security. They aren’t attracted to bad boys because they feel safe around them.

Tell that to an old woman!

Old women don’t put out.

Oh, but they do! They do!

You sleep with 85 year old women? (that is what I pictured when i said old)

You are definitely young and green. You seem to have no idea of sexuality beyond menopause.

Part of me wants to keep it that way.

Time is not on your side!

Tell me about it. Everytime I get rejected it feels like I am just gonna get older, and that it’s gonna be even harder to find romance.

 But that is true.
It also depends on the individual woman.

“Be fruitful and multiply”.

“To think of God as man, woman or a given thing ‘x,y,z,’ is to be thinking of something else”

What would that be?
