What delusions are the hardest to get rid of?

I wish I had money.

I realized I had a skill for helping people get organized. I studied how I could set up a business online and what people might be interested and willing to pay me. I had to speak to lots of people, slowly develop a business plan. In fact, most of these sentences are oversimplifications for what became my solution.

.

Do we not need to care for ourselves before we are able to care for anyone else? ..an old-fashioned notion now, I know ..now it’s ‘just keep going until you drop dead’.

When self-care becomes a delusion, you know you gotta start thinking harder..

I was responding to pseudoai on the difference between a wish and a solution. The first sentence was a wish. The second is a solution or part of one. I did not mean that those were delusions.

How come your replies are always hidden? I don’t have you on ignore.

Did you use a meaning meter to determine this? If you didn’t then there’s no way to know and everything means it totally.

The ones you think are important but are not.

Socrates said that to be knowledgeable in the things that matter you must be content to be ignorant of a great many other things that are not important. Now I have not read this book but I fully approve from personal experience and from teaching what he appears to be saying

In Praise of Prejudice: The Necessity of Preconceived Ideas

by Theodore Dalrymple

“Today, the word prejudice has come to seem synonymous with bigotry; therefore the only way a person can establish freedom from bigotry is by claiming to have wiped his mind free from prejudice. English psychiatrist and writer Theodore Dalrymple shows that freeing the mind from prejudice is not only impossible, but entails intellectual, moral and emotional dishonesty. The attempt to eradicate prejudice has several dire consequences for the individual and society as a whole.”

The act of delusion itself. Always practicing awareness knowing delusion is around the corner.

I put my profile on ‘hidden’ but my posts should still be visible in topics.

I try my best to understand and read people’s emotions offline but I am very terrible at it.

Even more offline people say that I always come off emotionless myself and then I am very often accused as being indifferently insensitive.

I of course don’t act emotionless, indifferent, or insensitive intentionally where I try my best to be empathetic towards others, nonetheless no matter how hard I try to get better at it never seems to do me much good either. This is something I constantly struggle with concerning social interactions.

(I doubt much of this will be news to you, just responding without really trying to figure out what you might actually find useful as an individual. This is a hey humans response.)

From what you said about your earlier Life Experiences, it seems to me you were in a lot of situations where showing emotions would make you more vulnerable than you already were. But that doesn’t explain why you don’t have an easy time reading people’s emotions, because that also is very valuable tool in situations where you don’t have a lot of power. If you’re around people who really wouldn’t want to get the slightest sense that you understood what was going on inside them that might have made you opt not to get good at that. Regardless, none of this has to be something that you’re trying to do nor does it have to be considered part of your essence.

We learned stuff that is useful or at least seems useful when we were younger and it’s not easy to convince the depths of our ID that it actually would be a good thing to stop. But it can be done.

It’s funny I’ve often thought about that I had a really good Poker Face coming out of childhood. This was definitely useful. But once I was out of certain situations it’s no longer useful it’s a problem 99% of the time. As I slowly allowed emotions to express and actually people started to refer to me is kind of transparent, guess what the hardest emotion was for me to express?

Joy. It seems sort of like begging the universe to step on me with a giant foot. And then of course other people also. Expressing joy seemed like a proclamation: Things are great they’re going to be great and nothing bad can happen to me. Well, fucking tempting fate as far as most of my body felt. I’m still trying to unlearn that imprinting.

what distinguishes a solution from a wish here?

Maybe the next step.

The wish is just the puzzle in the box.

The solution is the concrete thought and acts which put it (the puzzle) together.

Voila…a work of art has been created.

Hard work!

Maybe the delusion that anything can be achieved without spent time, blood, sweat, tears, energy and actual hard work.

That laziness is a great motivator. lol
