What is the purpose of knowledge?

Why do we seek knowledge? After all, we still live and die like the rest of them.

If it is so that we can better understand out world, and possibly change it - why? What is this motivation’s motivation? What drives us as human beings?

Nos.

Oh, oh, I know! Let me answer.

Actually, we don’t seek knowledge, it just happens. Knowledge is the presence of being to consciousness. It isn’t necessary that you exist and be conscious of the screen in front of you, and if the knowledge is contingent, there is no reason for any “seeking” or “getting to know that screen.” It just happens as a consequence of the particular event that you experience the object at that point and place in time. What we “seek” is simple contentedness, physical pleasure. Attaining knowledge is a means to that end although it is never necessary that any specific “knowledge” be sought, ie., the presence to a computer screen, the presence to a smoking cigarette, the presence to a hot-tub, the presence to the solution for a grand mathematical equation, the presence to the emotion of “love” and/or “compassion,” or anything else that is experienced as a successful event in achieving a desired end. If one feels happy when one makes a post, then the computer screen will become an aquainted knowledge for that reason only: because it serves a purpose and is an instrumental complex within a world that is to be used to aquire “happiness.”

Every bit of aquired and remembered experience involves intention. All intention involves a goal. Goals can only involve states of success, achievement, sustainance, and overcomming of certain states. One wants to maintain oneself for so and so…one wants to change oneself for so and so…regardless, there is always an active goal in progress. The lowest common denominator for every living nervous sentient creature and its “will” is power and self indulgence.

Living things want to party. That’s all.

What is sought is simple pleasure, the world is a contingent catalyst and myriad of objects for that achievement. .

you get to live miserably but in an intelligent way.

this is perhaps irritating. i like to ask innane questions. what is knowledge?
