What would happen if the people who insult each other on the internet actually went out and killed the people they insulted?

Why does it need to have a point?
Nothing in existence has a point. Everything changes, nothing is permanent. As such it has no point.
It can have a purpose. It can have it’s own story. But it cannot have a point.

I agree, life happens.

Killing people is the opposite of life, though

This reminds me of a story about feeding wolves. The emotion you feed is the one that survives (is lived). But is that really living? Emptions are neutral. They are meant to be enjoyed or serve as warnings. We are meant to rule them like sheep so that no sheep is lost or allowed to turn into a wolf without getting the rod and staff treatment of our reason—so that everyone is having a good time (everyone who cares about everyone having a good time).

It also reminds me that insulting people is a form of killing… if it is not done to remind them of who they really are like a shepherd‘s rod and staff that get the sheep back on the right track and protect from the real wolves (if the title offends you, you aren’t one of them). The right kind of insult/criticism is pruning, not murder. A merely apparent wolf cannot yet distinguish between pruning and murder and will never change until they have insight— unless they are not a merely apparent wolf and only feign lacking insight.

Let’s see. Does Trump act like a good shepherd or a wolf (a merely apparent wolf, or a wolf with insight)? Let’s give him credit for some of his actions that seem like what a good Shepherd would do. Do his good Shepherd actions/appearances merely indicate he gets the point? Do his wolf-like actions get a free pass? Is a wolf beyond accountability just because of their position as a Shepherd—or are the shepherds (not to mention Shepherd wolves) the ones who are held the most accountable? Should he repent or keep God‘s name out of his mouth?

Note that the possibility of repentance is a merciful assumption that gives him the benefit of the doubt that he is not doomed to be a wolf… it is not an intrinsic part of his world line—even a wolf with insight can change/turn their mind/heart (only possible because God is actually unchanging love).

Why bother doing anything if life is pointless ?

Cause ending it is even more pointless, and also takes too much effort.

It seems like you just created a false vacuum of meaning or something. …not that you can math that sort of thing.

I think it would be much better if people insulted each other on the internet than kill each other in person.

Not to the people who committed suicide.

You have no idea how much effort goes into getting someone to that point, till they overwrite their own natural instinct for wanting to stay alive.
How fundamentally, from the smallest of details starting from the bottom up you need to rewrite everything inside a person till they become comfortable with the idea that nonexistence is calm, peaceful and infinitely more preferable to being alive.

So dont just jump to the end conclusion while ignoring the cataclysmic amount of pressure that had to create it.
