It probably grows from the fact that aspergers happens whether we object to it or not. i’m not sure what you mean when you say acceptance though. i mean, yeah, we still acknowledge them as fellow humans, but we pathologize their condition and give them a label. It’s not as if we pretend they are the same.
I have a friend who is diagnosed asperger’s. BUT…his dad is the doctor who diagnosed him. He happens to be incredibly intelligent and he’s quite good at abstraction, and got a scholarship to go to the honors college at my old university. Probably worth about 100k. He also owns about 5 bongs, and smokes weed every single day. When I met him he was a total nerd, and his social awkwardness had him drop out of college. Then I worked with him in a restaurant for about a year, and we talked about philosophy and drugs almost every day. Now he’s back in college, and he got a hot girlfriend. Just about 3 months ago I think he got her some new tits.
He’s happy, I’m happy, no one cares is aspergers could be categorized as a degree of autism that’s already established.
I’m calling that dude today man this thread made me think about him.

I'm glad I for company. "I don't feel so alone" Bob Dylan. Like a Rolling Stone
The guy is like 25 years old and speaks at least 3 languages fluently, english (1st language), then Polish and Italian. He also does ballroom dancing and can play video games obsessively for days on end.
Then kindly cite why we must be “nice” to Asperger’s people?
Unless you believe we should be “nicer” to university students, people who take drugs (people who take drugs are losers, but that’s a digression), and persons who are high earners.

But they are not robots. They have emotions and are homo sapiens. Do you have compassion for other adults, but not for people with Aspberger’s?
I notice you did not respond to my pointing out that it was them not being normal that upset you - that they do not say hello. Why is it you think one must follow norms for greetings, but any other societal norm is not important?

Morality is anything one makes it. If society chooses to single out groups to deride, so be it. You agree that anything goes, incidentally.
I have compassion for many, but just don’t get/respect Asperger’s people.
Actually you have been objecting to people feeling compassion for both children and people with Aspberger’s. It seems to me you think other people should not judge you, while you clearly judge others. It seems like you want the compassion and acceptance people have for people with Aspberger’s - those that do - and children, while at the same time saying that any such expectation is not right.
Why should people accept the way you want to relate to children and people with Aspberger’s.
Well shit. I went to a university for about 6 years, I’ve been taking drugs every day for about 15 or so, and I earn above the average income for I guess I dunno most people.
