Which firearms will stop the killer AI robots?

In the next decade there will most likely exist autonomous AI robots that decide on their own to kill humans. Depending on the datasets their neural nets were trained on, they may come to decide that humans are bad, evil, stupid, a harm to the planet, etc. At least certain humans.

Most of these robots will only be mildly armored, because extensive armor is heavy and expensive. We will probably be dealing with the mass production of relatively cheap robots. But they are still made of metal for the most part and will probably have some kind of metal exoskeleton. Would a 9mm handgun stop one of these things? Probably not. Unless you manage to hit it in just the right place, like say between armor plates and sever a key joint in its leg, or some kind of important inner system is damaged.

Semi-auto rifles would fare better. The political controllers are always trying to strip us of our ability to purchase and own firearms, especially semi-autos and full autos. Now we know this is partly because they plan to unleash killer AI robots against us. But I think the best firearms to use would be shotguns, more so even than rifles. A high-powered shotgun at close range would most likely do the trick. If anything it would at least knock the robot down and give you some time to run. Grenades would be good, anything explosive. Those are probably hard to acquire though. And not as practical to use when you’re being chased or stealth hunted by killer AI robots.

I like that Black Mirror episode where they pour a can of wet paint onto the killer robot that is trying to kill them. This covers its sensors so it can’t see. I’m not sure how realistic that is though. Sure you could cover the cameras on its exterior, but I bet it will have backup camera systems or even internal scanning systems that can still locate you. Maybe. The early models might be stopped this easily but I am sure the later models will take such tactics into account. Then again maybe the AIs will just release some kind of airborne pathogen, a self-replicating autonomous and independently solar-, heat- or kinetic movement-powered nano-dust-like creation that kills or zombifies humans. There would be almost no way to protect ourselves against that.

Fitting with the world government slave system that is being created, I can see how there will exist “safe zones” probably in the form of high-walled 15 minute cities. They would use the situation of “uncontrolled” “accidental” unleashing of killer AI robots to force people into these cities. Then the fear of a pathogen can be used to force the survivors in these “cities” (panopticon prison camps) to take injections that further control and subdue them, merging them with the pervasive AI and advanced computer/scanning architecture all around them. Freedom and privacy won’t exist, the enemy will be inside you, probably forever.

Then again maybe none of this happens and I am just imagining an interesting science fiction story. Who knows, only time will tell.

Per the point of this topic, let us know which firearms or other weapons you think will help us fight off the killer AI robots? I was also thinking of EMP weapons. Or waterguns could be useful if the robots aren’t totally sealed against water damage to their inner circuits. Or maybe flamethrowers? Or some kind of sticky mesh, like Spiderman’s webs, to wrap it up and cause it to be unable to move.

Shotgun because of the drones. You need to shoot down those swarms.

“oh gone some little dronie drones coming from over there? little robo dogs? oh theyre so cute, hey watch this”

BOOOOOOOM
BOOOOOOOOM

Problem solved. No more dronie drones and robodoggies.

Or this.

Da f is that?

…and what kind of damage can that thing do?

Darpa robodoggie go bye bye

i believe it is the vy gun, the gun of vy

it is a double barrel semi auto or auto shotgun. but i am not sure if the s12 has 1 barrel or 2. it has twin magazines

basically i dont think humanity has much good odds against ai that wants to exterminate humanity. i think humanity has a chance against ai that merely wants to rule over humanity though

im not convinced ai would even send an army of footsoldiers as cannon fodder to be massacred by humans easily. For example, an ai could build just 1 tank and wipe out 100 humans from that, why couldnt they just build a bunch of tanks, why would they send foot soldiers?

i think they want to ban ar-15s not to ban ar-15s, but to make the discussion an overton window. So that legalizing rocket launchers or hand-grenades is not even part of the discussion. But i think some anti-tank shotgun ammo could be made, yet its probably illegal for sale. Even though it should be legal completely legal. Its not like a mass shooter is gonna go around shooting tanks. Why wouldn’t it be legal then?

then, the dexter’s lab cartoon genius… he has a giant lab in his basement… who built it, where did he get the money for all those materials? Same with ai… where are the gonna get the billions of dollars to raise an army, who’s gonna build the factories, are they just gonna invade existing factories, wouldn’t the national gaurd stop them easily? how does ai just magically one day create an army from thin air?

Would it be some software that makes the robot maids obey the ai? Then yea i think conventional weapons would stop them, maybe even a .22

.
But that… :point_down:t3:

…is not the same as that… :point_down:t3:

…the former… being real, the latter… fantasy.

So what is it?

its capitalism, games are not allowed to put the real names of guns anymore

copyright both prevents and creates artistic expression

How does AI magically create an army one day? Because companies like Google and countries like China are already building those armies in terms of weaponized robots and the mass production capability for making them. In reality they don’t even need humanoid robots with guns, all they need are little drones that probably cost $5 each or less to manufacture and can hunt down humans from the air. Forcing survivors underground and into dense forests. Did you see the Black Mirror episode about this? They weren’t flying drone but little armored doggie drones with guns and tons of sensors to detect humans close up and far away. Including the ability to track human DNA traces on the ground. Imagine if DARPA or whoever released a few thousand of those things randomly across America. How long would it take to defeat them and how many people would die? But then scale that up, imagine they dump 100,000 of them into the country. If each robodoggie or flying drone kills dozens of people before being shot down or crushed that’s millions dead. Plus the fear and social breakdown into anarchy it would cause. The economic collapse would kill probably a lot more people than the robots would.

It would be nice to have a future where AI robots are our friends, our maids and servants like in some comic or anime series. I guess only time will tell. In terms of destroying the killer AI robots, what about developing powerful EMP weapons? Or figuring out how to hack into them? Or… hm, well in the Black Mirror episode she thrown a bucket of paint on one of them, so it loses track of her as it can’t see. That’s probably not realistic since I assume the robots will have lots of different types of sensors including IR spectrum, very good directional location via hearing, other kinds of sensors we can’t imagine. In fact by the time this scenario would play out it’s likely most people will already have accepted the spatial web “internet of everything” and be surrounded by tiny sensors 24/7 in most of the products they use and environments they inhabit. So the AI robots only need to plug into Skynet to find you.
