Thats why I said “a large group of approval”, before I mentioned the word “society”. I did not mean to allude to society as a whole, just a large social group.

Even so within any given group you’ll get variation in impressions of beauty, unless that group is solely united on the basis of a shared impression of beauty, of course.
Of course when you ask people it’s hard to know whether people are giving their impression or simply offering one that hasn’t yet been offered by the other people you just asked. Often people will disagree not because they really disagree but because they don’t want to appear to be following the crowd.
