Why can’t I just wait and these things happen after a certain amount of time passing ?
It requires mutual consent.
The hilarious thing is that sometimes that’s exactly the way it happens.
No time doesn’t change these things.
They require human action aka Human Movement.
If human interaction is low or nearly non-existent then time does little. If you have a job - sorry - or take classes of some kind, time increases chances a lot. Because there you have interaction. I know you don’t want to work or take classes, but those are mundane miracle options that make a difference.
They could but they also could do nothing they aren’t miracle cures. You believe that the person can control their circumstances I don’t believe that.
The chance is the miracle. The chance. Of course, there’s no guarantee. But staying in your home scrolling…only a literal miracle will get you laid, a girlfriend, some real excitement that way. You are controlling your circumstances, obviously not completely. You are making a choice. What do I know? Perhaps right now it is the best choice. But in the long run life without much direct interaction with people has very little chance of getting you what you desire. You can have pale imitations. Shadow play on a wall versions. The fact that working or education offer repeated nearness to and interactions with living humans offers a chance the phone does not. That chance is a miracle. A small humble miracle. And it can lead to a string of failures that also teach you how not to fail. If you want a guarantee, no one has one. But not coming in contact with people is close to a negative guarantee of not getting what you want.
Jobs and classes also force us to deal with chaos, obnoxious people and good people, problems. People spend so much time on the internet they have lost the ability to deal with problems. And they truly can’t understand that the external world doesn’t just shift like scrolling shifts. We have so much power over the virtual world, and I see a lot of younger people thinking they can simply shift the policeman who pulled them over or the teacher or employer who demands something of them and are stunned and upset when wishing does not make it so. I think there has been a loss of grit due to social media and internet access. We go from being magicians to being in a position where we have to navigate other people’s desires, rules, laws, power. Having a relationship is generally an ongoing set of solving problems…also. It’s not just that, but unlike online interactions with porn or virtual girfriends or whatever, you have to deal with resistance and other people’s needs and desires.
Scrolling is training, but what is it training.
You won’t look back nostalgically on those great virtual reality experiences. You won’t wish you’d spent more time on the internet. That I can guarantee.
Human movement happens in that time, whether that movement is standing still or taking forward (or backward) steps. Just like failing to plan is planning to fail, failing to act is acting to fail…or win, depending on the situation.
I understand what you were saying and I get that as I said before that there could be a chance that it’s better than being on the smartphone but you know what if it’s not what if nothing comes from it what if your positivity is false what if life is chaotic meaninglessness what if life is just suffering ? What if other people are evil and being around other people makes you evil yourself ? People don’t like to question these things I can understand why people like to believe in the positive because it feels good not because it’s true people like to believe that themselves and other people are good but believing that doesn’t make it so humans are very imperfect and human existence is also very imperfect and broken even though I don’t agree with Christianity on everything I do agree with them that humanity is broken.
What if you meet someone who thinks all the same stuff, but thinks that humans are created to defy that and swim against the tide (but they’re pretty darn sure they’re never gonna meet somebody like you, so they just stay home and avoid looking available if they ever do leave the house)?
What if you’re right and it’ll just happen if you guys run into each other, but only if one of you speaks up and makes the other person feel safe to say “hey, me too”?
“It’s just a line” will no doubt be going through both of your heads… which is super dumb… and people should just stop playing… which is the actual dumbness.
Then you’ll have lost nothing.
Then you can back off and experience chaotic meaninglessness in isolation again.
I don’t assume people are good. I am not suggesting work or classes because I want to believe something. I’m speaking from experience, mine and others. Yes, you may have to sift through hundreds of people to find an imperfect friend. Yup.
Your phone is a dead friend. We’re social mammals not appliances. You post here longing for real company all the time. You don’t post here longing for more surfing minutes or a larger computer screen or even VR goggles. You’re longing for humans.
Stop looking for roses and there will be no thorns … is the win.
Stop spying cuz it’s cheating, which is default losing, nah?
If one thinks the world is screwed because people are, then don’t worry about it, why the concern. Unless one is looking to find something good in perhaps a miraculous place in all that. How would one expect to come to terms with one’s life if one is always hoping for a better state for/around one’s self? As long as you’re not screwed up that’s good enough. Who cares what else is happening.
Actually I wouldn’t mind owning a new video game console or a car for that matter.
Why bother believing in anything ? And it’s not that I lost nothing both of them involved losing something but I’m alone I lose the ability to be with people obviously when I’m around other people I lose the ability to not be criticized.
No that’s not good enough even if I am all good the world around me has to reflect me and has to be all good as well if it is around me and it is imperfect and bad then eventually it will make me imperfect and bad the more I am around it when I am around it.
What if you choose someone just as committed as you are to encourage each other to mutual consent recognition? If you’re possible, they’re possible.
Sure, but it’s never been the topic you come to discuss.
I’d bet the house you criticize yourself. Or perhaps to be more specific…that little nasty voice in the head, that’s sometimes can even just toss out an image or hint as something
and the critique is driven home in a way no other person can manage.
And trust me, many of those images and videos you see, they are criticizing you, just they do it indirectly.
