Why Science needs Philosophy

Genetic testing has shown that the black and chinese races are closer to each other than they are to whites. This is physical proof that they are foreigners.

Brain tests have shown that there are physical differences in the brain between people who behave in an ordinary way and those who behave dysfunctionally. This is physical proof that they are dysfunctional.

Environmental studies have shown that some plants and animals with certain physical characteristics have an adverse affect on human eco-systems. This is physical proof that they are weeds and varmints.

Mind to post some data/proofs on this presumption?

Dysfunctional according to which standards?

Plants are ‘weeds’ insofar as they are useful to humans; isn’t that Anthropomorphic evaluation?

These are entirely Subjective judgments, these judgments based on scientific findings are not scientific.

Anyways to get to the subject header which has nothing to do with the OP, science needs philosophy because the scientific method is a philosophy in itself.

I’m still not sure also why science needs philosophy.

Eh see my post

Mr. Jones is being maeutic. Pointing out the ridiculous conclusions that ‘science’ could draw from physical facts, unguided by philosophical thought, e.g. ethics.

That there is a philosophy of science is another matter.

Why Science need Philosophy–

Why Philosophy needs Science–

Why they must necessarily intertwine–

Damn, I had no idea there was a word for it! Of course I’ll never remember it… #-o

Nice!

I assume by this post you mean that science needs philosophy else we are left with these crass interpretations of nuanced data?

Edit: Statiktech hit the nail on the head, the processes of philosophy and science, at their healthiest, are necessarily intertwined.

There are physical facts that show that some people are foreigners. Being a foreigner is a measurable property of someones mind and body - as PROVED by the PHYSICAL FACT that foreigners are physically different and think differently.

Uh everyone is physically different and thinks differently.
