comments?

Perhaps they deleted it because youre not supposed to release personal information like passwords.

And what is the significance of this chase email anyway?

the significance is that i dont know what case bank is. no one told me yet.
i absolutly have NO credit online and never will because of shit like this.

i suspect it to be some kind of phish. i love exposeing wierd shit like this. :sunglasses:

Drift, Most financial institutes have a section on their website for reporting phishing scams. You should have forwarded the email to them to follow it up.

Additionally, financial institutes don’t give that sort of information out via normal email – you have to login in to your account by typing the url in the browser (NEVER by clicking links in emails) tand then retreiving the info from there.

If someone did delete your initial post, it would have been to prevent an IP address, login/password to be posted online – just in case it was genuiine.

We’ve had several threads about this previously. The last one was on ilovephilosophy.com/phpbb/vi … t=#1715156

Chase is official http://www.chase.com/

But that email was a scam, they send it to everyone in the hope that firstly a few people have an account with whoever theyre pretending to be and secondly that they will be gullable enough to fall for it and put in their details.

My dad got one from Lloyds TSB and I got one from Pay Pal before… telling me that my account had been flagged and that I needed to re-enter my details by following the link.
The ironic thing is, these emails always stress security. They play on peoples fears of being tricked by trying to pretend that the emails are for security purposes.

Ah! drift is gratefull! i will thank you for an exellent reply(and the others that replyed to this thread) unlike PG on that old one. that thread is dated dec 30 2005,or close to it, so i dont count it as recent IMO.

good to have little refesher coarses on this shit for the new-comers eh?

I hate chase bank. I asked them for change once and they said I needed a fucking account.

pxc, lol it isn’t just chase that does it I too have run into that problem. LOL it is too funny, I think it is in place because of counterfeiting. But it still is stupid. I call the phone company to find out where in another town can I pay my bill since that is where I am at the time, and they insist on knowing my phone number before they tell me anything or switch me to someone else. Generally once they get my number they will give me the address nearest to my home, it takes forever to get it through their sheeple heads what it is I want.LOL Protocols can be a hassle.
