My first job was in a comic book store, I was underage… and we had a very unscrupulous owner. He knew all the serial numbers to the boxes and packs… so he would either keep the box with the high valued cards, or he would open the box and take out the exact pack that had the high valued cards, and sell the other packs individually at premium prices. Scratch tickets work the same, they have serial numbers, and where the million dollar scratch ticket is known, so someone on the inside could just call a friend and say, go this this circle K in Chapel Hill NC and buy the whole roll… and split the million with me.
