Women, the Mid East and Islam

I don’t think this is prevalent in many American’s consciousness, but the one thing that has catapulted the United States into the premiere world power during World War II and beyond was the advent of the female working class. The fact that women began working en masse at the factories, producing weapons, ammunition and other essentials at a much larger rate in the past contributed greatly towards the booming of the American war machine as well as the economy. This effect lasted after the war, more and more women continued to enter the workplace. Suddenly we had the capacity to nearly double our workforce by empowering women to work and produce. Today, we reap the benefits of that paradigm shift and continue to do so. The workforce was diversified in talent and capability as well, with women bringing their unique traits to American Industry and education. Feeling empowered, more women began to go to college and more make an impact on our society ever before in all industries, as well as politically. Doesn’t it seem pretty obvious that this shift really helped us to become the greatest superpower that ever existed?

Now, let’s take a look at where the Islamic states are without this same advantage. By not empowering women and essentially oppressing them, the Middle East has fallen backwards greatly, this may be where women are oppressed the harshest. The Arab spring, brought on by the advent of the internet and its technological abilities, made people aware just how far they are behind Western Culture, and they aren’t happy. This new found consciousness resulted in the desire to overthrow their government, but the people are still disillusioned at their real enemy, their own religion of Islam. By blaming the government and not their own way of life, they are still at a standstill, replacing Islamic leader with Islamic leader, fascist for fascist, tyrant for tyrant, corrupt politician for another corrupt politician. They are not attacking the root of their problem, the reason they lag so far behind Western Culture, their backwards religion of Islam. Granted they are comparing themselves with the rest of the world and it’s ability to progress and prosper, all while not looking at how it occurred to begin with. Islamic oppression is not viewed as the root of their economic troubles, and that it is exactly why their economic troubles will endure. With United States recently surpassing all nations by becoming the top oil producer in the world and are now considering exporting oil again, we will see the riches of Mid East oil wealth begin to dwindle. What will they have to fall back on? Certainly not a female empowered workforce that the great Western Civilizations have relied upon. Perhaps Allah will come down and rescue them from their plight. But Considering their faith has been going strong ever since the decline of the Islamic Golden era, which was propelled by technology and science as opposed to faith, I think we can see that the Middle East isn’t progressing as they should, for quite some time.

Cute how you got it ass-backwards.

Outsider…are you being serious? Do you believe the stuff in that video?

Of course I don’t. Nothing but paradise and utopia results from giving women power. Liberalism, pacifism, multiculturalism and sexual promiscuity is a sure way to preserve your society and make progress!

Have you seen/heard the works of art made by liberals and feminists? Masterpieces.
Have you noticed how multiculturalism works flawlessly? Amazing.
Have you observed how liberating women and allowing them to be sexually promiscuous totally doesn’t result in birthrates going below replacement levels? Indisputable.

I totally agree with you, mr reasonable, and that WW guy.

Your video is really an entirely different matter than what I discussed in the OP. I mean if you were wishing to derail the OP due to a bias against women (which you could’ve chose Islam, if you were Islamic), then I understand. But in any case, your video would be better suited as a topic for discussion in another thread. Women, the sexual revolution and the West. But what the video implies is now that every Western Culture is now doomed because of women choosing their sexual mates. I suppose they are all going to fly to China now to have sex? Not very convincing.

If an army of women invaded and conquered the United States, or at least temporarily conquered, do you think some men here would have sex with this invading army of women?

Men and women evolved to fulfill different sexual reproductive roles. This means that both have their advantages, and disadvantages. This further means that the same standards don’t apply to men and women.

At the very fundamental level, being masculine is beneficial to men because it is conductive to fulfilling the masculine (male) sexual role, but it is not so for women, and the other way around. This is why masculine men are seen as fit, and feminine women seen as fit, while feminine men are looked at as ‘faggots’ (unfit, weaklings), and masculine women as undesirable (unfit cause ugly).

So no, it’s not the same thing.

I don’t really blame Muslims though. The West is degenerate and weak. It is in desperate need of culling, Muslims exploiting its weakness and stupidity is just natural selection. I’m actually grateful to Muslims, hopefully a few of their bombers can also attend a the degenerate gay parades and clean Europe of filth. If the West doesn’t wake up, it deserves to be Islamized and destroyed, as do all groups when they become weak and decadent.

And really, I missed the point of the thread? Dude, you’re claiming Western liberal policies are superior to Eastern, I pointed out that if the West continues with its liberal policies, it will get FUCKING DESTROYED by the East. And the thing about that is, while words can be used ambiguously, and one can lie with words, there would be no dispute who is superior if Muslims invaded a country, killed all the men and took the women as sex slaves. That would be the masculine way of doing things, letting actions speak instead of words. It’s like these shit-talker fighters in MMA, who talk a lot of stuff (like you and I are talking now), and both fighters may claim to be superior, but only one turns out to actually be so.

The increase in women in the working force was not a boon, as it was contrasted by the men leaving the working force… What with WWII going on. Women did the job, because men were not around to do so.

Actually, most of the increase came from us being one fo the few first world places that still had our infrastructure (all the factories and such), as the other places had blown each others up.

Quite often, women were forced out of their jobs, because the men that survived came back, and for the most part, didn’t have to compete, they were just given their jobs back.

I’ll agree that we benefit from more women in the workforce, I’ll have to disagree that it was exclusively because of WWII changes. I would actually put more women in the work place up to a shift in the requirements of the work place. With modernization, fewer jobs require safety risks and physical strength. To this day, the men die on the job more that women, as is represented in payment statistics.

Again, more to do with modernization than anything. More jobs require sitting down and looking at computers and data, something women are quite good at.

Sure, though again, I would put that up to us being the only ones with infrastructure after WWII, which is one of the reasons we no longer hold the greatest superpower quite like we did, the other first world nations have fully caught back up.

So there is a lot here. Yes, the Middle East has fallen behind on women’s “rights,” but you don’t have to go back very far to see this corrected. It has only been the last 30 years or so that this change has happened. I’ll absolutely agree that it is culture that is a problem here, their government is very much a reflection of their culture…

However, the oil wealth well not dwindle quickly, they still have quite a supply, and it is a much cheaper supply to get at. Their current problems have more to do with their government making money off the oil, and having no reason to care about the culture… But even there, many of the countries that rely heavily on Oil have diversified their investments so that they can continue to be in power regardless of oil… For now.

As to women in the workforce, women have always been in the workforce, they’ve just been specialized to a specific role, one which they (we) are growing out of. Females not working is a modern (within the last 75 years or so) conceit. Before that women were chosen as wives based on these specialist requirements.

A book I suggest for you to read: The Dictator’s Handbook by Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and Alastair Smith Not specific to this subject, but I think it might help your judgement on this type of thing.

Another one is: The Prize which is all about oil… You can skip the beginning bits, if you wish… It’s a damned good book all the way through though. Also, I know you can find it online as a epub.

A side note, I consider women in the workforce to be one of the most beneficial things to happen recently, so I’m not arguing with that premise. Nor do I think that the middle east (Islam sorta) is reaping good things by diminishing a woman’s possible choices. My problem is only the specifics of what you are saying.

I don’t really get how twice as many people entering the work force to provide the same amount of shit for the same amount of people would be a boon for the economy. If we were massive exporters/manufacturers compared to countries where women don’t work, I guess that would be something…but we aren’t. Are families with two working parents today really bringing in more wealth than families with a single bread-winner back in the day?

Women being free to work is probably a net gain, but I’m not clear on the actual economic advantages.

Also, I agree without Outsider to the extent that this is an odd time to be praising liberal western values compared to the Middle East when the Middle East is poised to roll over us and it’s precisely our liberal values keeping us from mustering a necessary defense. Not much to do with feminism though.

Jesus Christ, who gave you the red pill suppository?

Quite often, women were forced out of their jobs, because the men that survived came back, and for the most part, didn’t have to compete, they were just given their jobs back.

Yes very good points. I think what happened in World War II was that people realized women could work, which was the point. Of course the 50’s saw the gender role reinforced, but that didn’t last very long at all, because in the early 60’s more women were back in the workforce than ever before. By then, Europe was well on a path to recover. So I look at this in not immediate time frames with direct causality, necessarily.

Very good point again, I think you could be right - which means World War II isn’t necessarily the driving force, but was it a driving force?

Thank you for your thoughtful response and insight, it’s eye opening for me on the matter. I’ll put that book in my amazon wish list
