Sounds like an opposite of democracy. What happens when a society becomes less productive of the “tangible” and people aren’t interested in joining the military? How are people who don’t “produce” the “tangible” or don’t want to join the military represented in the social decision making process? Do they just find something insignificant to produce that amounts to landfill fodder (so that they produce something “tangible”)? Do they stoke up a war to produce the need for more soldiers and thus higher reward incentives (to attract more people into military life)?
The ssytem does not prevent wealth, nor property, it just does not include them into the criterion of citizenship. A man can remain a member of its society without voting or holding office….like most Americans already do.
They aren’t….THAT’s the point. If you cannot be bothered, then why should you affect the fate of those who are willing and interested?
Why would they when those who fight the wars are those who decide whether to go to war or not.
In the US those who decide never fight…and their children never fight either.
So, in Timocracy war is considered a serious matter, because those who vote on it are those who will fight in it.
What if people who aren’t soldiers nor producers of the “tangible” WANT to participate in the decision making process and want to promote their ideas regardless? Do they start their own society somewhere else? Maybe go on 4Chan and just talk shit or something? Or what about arts and sciences? Are they “tangible”? And what qualifies something as “tangible” instead of intangible?
