Be responsible for you own actions.
Be responsible for you own actions.
This line came to mind after reading Madcaplaughs’s and Floyd’s posts. The brainchild of car manufacturers for the safety of the driving public, this short eight-word quip has become the subject of some of the funnies written by stand-up comics. And come to think of it, it does fit into our philosophical scheme of things in the world:
Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.
No person in all of human history has ever known anything. Not one damn thing. You do not know anything. I do not know anything. Your parents, spouse, teachers, and pets do not know anything. Your leaders, employers, and government do not know anything. NOBODY KNOWS ONE DAMN THING, and never will! Repeat after me: “I don’t know ANYTHING.”
Now keep thinking on this while you go about your day, week, month, life. Nobody around you knows a damn thing - what should you do with that information?
In a hundred years, maybe much less, you will be gone. Fifty years after that, maybe much less, it is possible that nobody will give you a single thought. It is possible, just possible that you will be back: as a member of either sex of any race that exists. If you get the chance try and stear the world in such a direction as may make your return as pleasant as possible, whereever it may be.
hehe im sure people dont know the full context of xandermans quote, so here goes :
a novice monk went to his meditation master after his first meditation hour and said :
oh master, meditation is insanely impossible. flies tickle my nose. every other minute another muscle complains. i keep trying to collect my thoughtrs and they keep flying off like a pack of seagulls. what am i to do ?
be patient. this will pass
couple months later, same monk, same master
oh master, i must have mastered meditation. there is nothing in the world of the flesh that can disturb me, my thoughts are clear and my focus is unbroken… and i bend spoons and shit. what now ?
be patient. this will pass too.
Hello… anybody home?
Excuse my accent and spelling.
i would have to go with “Shut your mouth and open your eyes.”
“You’ve got something on your face.”
Or maybe: “Don’t eat that. It’s a rock.”
Life is short, learn to laugh.
I would say … “Love many, trust few, always paddle your own canoe.”
good point up to a certain extent, but you can end up dead easily
I would tell : do something you havent done yet
(oh, realising you can still end up dead)
“CUT THE CRAP”!
of course, what is crap is relative…and so it should be.
