I see it, but what are you going to do about it? You started the anti-meat thread, based on animal cruelty. We already made giant leaps forward, your being lazy. You said the best you could do was point it out. This is false, you can do much more. I already offered up a few suggestions… have better butcher tools and advocate strong punishments for not using fast and clean executions, and measures for humane cattle running… logistics being set up from meat taxes (export, Vat, don’t care).
You may not know thus, but in America, Chicago was the national hub for cattle operations. The cattle initially was raised on the plains, and drove in on big herds… then our railway started poking out from Chicago in every direction. You can travel in the US north south, East West just fine, but it’s not till Chicago it gets all crazy and diagonal. It was to acvomidate the farms.
The better our technology improved, the simpler it got, the less need we had to push it to extremes… we thought out every level.
A pig compound now can cost $50,000 to open, pigs are admittedly trapped… Turkey and chicken farms tend to be factory oriented… but Cows, Horses, Llama, Bison are still largely open field, with barns and hay for the winter. Many working professionals grow nothing but hay in the rural areas just outside the suburbs, a guy comes a few times a year to cut it for them, pays the mortgage, sometimes even the electric for the family. Farms centralized buy this, feed in winter when grass doesn’t grow.
Cows don’t get screwed with until butchery comes, and they rarely have to match far… capitalism in our country has ironed out every step. No reason to be cruel till that dead last second.
In India, I know to a large extent, agriculture is still state controlled. That means it’s the philosophers imperative to write up and encourage internal changes. That means Zinmsti, since he cares enough to lecture us. You need to lecture your own people that a absolute idealism of non-violence isn’t doing squat, and that being pragmatic can substantially reduce the suffering of these animals. They will cry Avaita Vedanta, dance around and call you a monster, but the real monster is their negligence in not even confronting the immediate reality… it’s happening, will continue to happen… for crying out loud, make it more humane. Send inspectors from special task forces separate form the normal ones to show up to inspect not for compliance against illegally smuggling and bribing, but rather proper execution of animals, using proper tools humanely. The tools ate not that expensive, and I’m sure even a rural blacksmith can work something up… better than a hammer that takes multiple blows.
The roots the cattle De Facto use need mapped out, way stations (a state owned controlled field) with water needs regularly set up, with minimal shelter for humans overnight. Failure to use these a hour after dusk without a excellent excuse should lead to confiscation and auction of the herd.
These little measures fix the logistic gaps. It advances your country from the stone age in terms of animal rights to 19th century America.
How much does it cost to have a special inspector team? A couple Muslims or Sikhs not afraid of seeing cows killed, drive up randomly, walk up with a clipboard, writing citations and making arrests, if they can’t comply? How much does it cost for each state to officially set aside fields every so many miles to prevent over exhaustion of cattle along routes they already use? How much for more humane designs for implements of slaughter?
Its pure brain power, very minimum investment. Something you can do easily by drawling up a general plan. You live there, you feel you can lecture us, I lecture you back. Get off your butt, visit a blacksmith or machine shop, see what can be done realistically. Do a 3d mechanical drawling of the instruments. Look at maps, what routes do you know are in use? What should the points of more humane butchery be? Why is it important? Are you a better vegetarian, a more moral person for ignoring it?
You can’t stop it, but you can initiate positive change here. Thats what philosopher do… we are thinkers, we introduce ideas. Everyone in India is apparently broke ass poor and to uncaring, so your theory will have to have minimal impact in terms of effort… just falls into the logic already in place, even makes better sense to do it this way sort of thinking. It gas to be seen that way.
If not, if you can’t even find yourself to try, you should apologize to everyone for making the anti-meat thread, as you clearly don’t stand for protecting the welfare of animals, and was merely trolling of a moral superiority trip.
Its easy for vegans and vegetarians to cry out when a meat eater eat meat, but it’s very hypocritical and disturbing when they make no real efforts to reduce suffering when and where it exists. On the scale meat is being consumed, impossible to make everyone a vegan. But it doesn’t mean you take a extreme, hypocritical stance and do nothing.
Joker is my hero. He killed the cows by hand. Fast, efficient. I want competent, controlled kills, not stationary blades and electrodes that don’t always kill first jab. Sure kill first time, instantly, 99.999 percent of the time. That takes effort, competency, right equipment and work ethic. You can’t achieve that without regulation, especially in your controlled economy with minimal liberalization of agriculture and husbandry.
It has to be you Zinny. Our ancestors did it here, now it’s your turn there. I don’t want a single Hindu lecturing us again until they fix this mess in their own house. We don’t do half the craziness empathetic India does to it’s own animals, the thoughts to do so wouldn’t occur to most of us.
What I’m suggesting us very simple and achievable. You can undoubtedly build upon it talking to local philosophers on the ethics of a more human culling.
