Isolated in this Webforum?

=; Basic!

…like I said, I’m not in any one group and I prefer trolls to sock-puppets, and yet you read the unsaid into my published fact.

Imma gonna take my self off to the Mensa sites, because… ya know. :icon-rolleyes:

Therefore ( :icon-rolleyes: ) I said, „(a) you are neutral, as you should be as a moderator, which you were in former times, or (b) you try to touch all groups equally, which is also quite moderator-like“; but since September/October 2019 you are no moderator anymore:

Therefore ( :icon-rolleyes: ) I offered you two alternatives. “There are more people in a group than people who think they are not in a group” (An old and famous philosopher). Even this one is in a group:

I’m probably (a), tho I can sometimes do (b) …for the sake of amusement.

He’s definitely in a few groups alright… he’s certainly got very specific tastes, and he owns the world to boot…
Is that your account? If it isn’t, why choose that one? Purple semi-precious gem stones? …neat. I’m a sucker for them myself… I have a veritable collection of semi-precious stone jewellery.

The one who owns the world also owns the groups contained in it.

Go away.

From his point of view, that’s how it is! :sunglasses:

Do you feel insulted?
And if so, why?
Sorry.

The world is a construct. I’m sure you understand what I’m getting at and alluding to…?

Those that stay within their set, are welcome to it …those that venture out, grow their character and confidence more, than those that don’t/who become hollow inside… void of character and kindness.

Currently there is a lot of talk about trolls and sock-puppets here at ILP.

My contribution to this:

What annoys a poster more: the troll or the sock-puppet?

Trolls and sock-puppets are functions of a strategy.

And what is the strategy of a troll? So their strategies pay off? Perhaps low dividends!!!

The strategy of a troll is to isolate the others, to destroy them, but sometimes also to have fun with them under the condition that this leads to the goal of having no other topic than the topic “fun”.

This is my assessment. I do not consider myself a troll, but I am interested in the motives of trolls.

otto you are a funny guy

Did you say that, because of this: youtu.be/3cfVZ7TdPKo ?

How do you propose such groups are isolated?
You have not said exactly what you mean by this. Surely “membership” of any group has to be a venn diagram where where ideas and your positions on things would overlap with other people. As individuals “membership” of a group is not really possible since any other member is likely to take different stance on some other issue.

Being funny seems to be Otto’s job here on this internet platform.

hes a really funny guy in the right kinda way. no offence otto.

Yes, being funny is my job, but my job ethic has limits, moreover, I often have vacations.

I quite like the autonomy and freedoms my non-group isolation gives me…

…tho only 95% of the time, and not all 100% of the time… so not wholly antisocial.

But you are 95% antisocial then - according to your own words. … Nice.

The 5% is the percentage of me that wants to go Out Out, every-so-often.

Sometimes I fulfil the want, but more often-than-not, I don’t.
