All notions and concepts of property are man-made conventions, agreements on what certain words mean and how one is expected to act and interact with and around the material (and now intellectual property) things in one’s environment. But the things don’t care, and the universe doesn’t care, if we change those words and behaviors regarding our interaction with material things. So, the very concept of ‘property’ is a spook (shout out to max) and exists only in your head and your language.
That being the case, there will be differing notions and concepts about what constitutes rightful property among those who participate in its production, attainment and use. The final verdict is always by force, either directly with a weapon or indirectly with a philosophy or some other manner of persuasion.
Some believe that in order to prevent this divergence of agreement in what constitutes ‘property rights’, and the conflicts that result, the process of production, attainment and use needs to be completely democratized so that our conventions can be decided by a direct majority. If I need to explain to you why this would be ideal, then I’ve got no business even trying to explain any of this…cuz if that doesn’t make sense, you ain’t about to understand anything else either.
Be this as it should, the private capitalist has no place or role in this ideal state. It is literally the antithesis to the democratization of the modes of production in this way.
But your bigger problem, and perhaps what I should have only explained instead of the above, is that until the labor value dispute is resolved between the wage salary earner and the employer, the employer’s concept of ‘property’ means fuck all to the worker. Or I should say ‘should mean’ fuck all, but most workers haven’t a clue what’s going on… plus they’re decent people who want only a peaceful transition. I mean they ain’t got the minerals to be anarchists, or the organization to be effective. And they’ve been indoctrinated and conditioned to think ‘this way’ is the only way… that there has to be wage salary earners and private business owners.
Kay. Re-cap. The universe doesn’t give a shit about your definition of ‘property’, and the current conventional concept of ‘property’ is up for revision.
