Allow a drunk to get drunk, eh? Longtime posters here, and by that I mean anyone here longer for a week that bothers paying attention, will have realized that for me being drunk is somewhat like you breathing. It simply happens. If there is an emotional event, so much the better.
Traumatic? I would ask if anyone with whom you’ve been deeply involved has had children and if so, how long has it been? She is my first and so it is, for me, a rather emotional moment. But do answer those questions and we’ll see how best to proceed.
You see, sometimes adults encounter events of a traumatic nature that aren’t necessarily bad. This one is beautiful. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to drink to dull the intensity of it . . .

There is a pretty large Free the Hops movement in Alabama. At the very least, they could use some weed. At best, they can help hook you up with some nice beers.

I got the chimay in Atlanta. It’s about an hour and a half drive, but I try to make regular trips to keep stock of decent brew. It’s hard spending a months worth of beer money all at once, but it’s worth it when I’m sitting on the couch in my boxers smoking a j and drinking on funk-diggity beer.
There’s a bar in Bham where the free the hops people have thier meetings and what-not. It’s got something like 46 imported drafts and god knows how many bottled imports, the problem is that even there, the 6% limit is in force.
Have you had a beer called “Arrogant Bastard” or “Double Bastard”, or any beers brewed by a company called sweetwater?
I’ve had the Stone brews. Good stuff. Took me a while to warm to the company but their Russian Imperial Stout opened my eyes and their Old Guardian blew my mind.
As for Sweetwater, I drank a bunch of it when I was visiting a buddy in Hotlanta. It treated me just fine. Their 420 goes nice with eggs and toast for breakfast.
