I don’t have a high level POSITION…but I am noticing how we are using religion to destroy ourselves…many people I know leave
everything up to god…they tell others there is nothing you can do…I think first we need to set GOD aside for awhile and solve our problem of destroying ourselves and others…we are not taking personal responsibility…we just PRAY
People are overwhelmed by complexity. They don’t know how to solve problems. They find that decisions are stressful. They rely on others to think for them.
But when religion is removed, people are still the same. They just follow a different group of leaders.
God is irrelevant. It is unimportant … whether you believe in God or not… whether you believe in the right God… whether you have the right religion… whether you have spirituality or not.
God cannot be created or destroyed.
God is always in the background or always missing from the background.
All is as it is.
You are in the foreground. Your actions determine what kind of life you and others will have.
phyllo has just summed it up…this is pretty high…you can talk all you want about religion and spirituality but it doesn’t go anywhere…what is needed…action …personal action
If people are enjoying the arguments it is rather difficult to stop them , sort of like giving somebody their favorite flavor of icecream tell them its theirs then as they begin to enjoy it, tell them they should give all of it to the person they hate the most… You might get 5 people out of a hundred to do so, the rest will choke it quickly down or toss it to the ground or give you a nasty word or two and keep on enjoying their icecream.
People enjoy arguing beliefs, , it is a favored icecream.
